    Stock Tire Size

My 1985 K1500 came with the 31-10.50R15 size. I now have 265/75-15 on it. The tires and wheels in my sig pic were larger maybe 32x11.50. I went back to stock wheels and tire size.

    Extremely loose steering

Check your frame for cracks where the steering box mounts. Large diameter tires increase the stress in that area leading to cracks that can allow movement.

    Another Gearing Question.....

Just my 2 cents but I think you will need the higher rpm for towing that much weight. Not the same situation but, back in the day I towed a loaded goose neck from Missouri to Wyoming with a '76 K20 350/350. I could only do 45 up some of the steeper grades and got 4 mpg on that trip. If I recall...

Back in the day, my '76 K20 Custom Deluxe had door locks. I don't remember ever seeing one without door locks.

Can she do it, hot shot towing

Back in the day I had a '76 K20 350/350 and 4.10 rear ends. I pulled a loaded goose neck from MO to WY. That was some trip. I got 4mpg and was down to 40mph on some of the hills. I never did that again.

K10 front calipers don't fit back on with new pads

I had this exact same problem, new calipers and pads too. I ended up taking the grinder to the pads to remove a little material. Problem solved. The only other thing I could think of doing was to shop for different pads that were a little thinner.

K10 front brake pads wrong thickness?

I recently replaced my front pads and had this issue too. I had to push the bolt guides to the outside and grind a little of the pad off with an angle grinder to get the calipers on. After a test drive the hubs were quite hot so I removed the pads and ground a little more off. Problem solved and...

    Missouri safety inspection no CATS

In addition to the cats, is there anything else they look for in the Missouri inspection? My truck does have cats but the engine was replaced and all of the rest of the emissions stuff was removed.

Sparks from the alternator are not normal. Might check for a loose ground wire or have the alternator checked.

1985 Scottsdale V6 - Choke Light coming on at idle

CorvairGeek and 1987 GMC Jimmy are right. The choke light doubles as a low oil pressure indicator light. I think it comes on if the oil pressure drops below 4psi.

1 ton wheels on 1/2 ton truck?

The guys that ran those 6.50-16 bias ply tube type tires would get about 12k miles out of a set before they needed to be replaced. They also carried 2 spares with them as they had lots of flats. They were working out in the boonies of Wyoming so a long way from help.

1 ton wheels on 1/2 ton truck?

I remember some mid 70's half ton 4x4's with 16 inch rims. I think the tires they ran were bias ply 6.50-16. These rims were probably only 5 inches wide so skinny skinny. I had a '76 3/4 ton that used 7.50-16's.
