    Old six cylinder stuff

@SDJunkMan I’m actually looking for a friend who’s into to the old six cylinder stuff. He’s looking for anything and everything to have for parts and whatnot. Is that engine in your ‘48 a 261? The pic on my first post he rebuilt and restored himself. He's also restoring the truck its in, which...

    Old six cylinder stuff

I'm looking for miscellaneous parts for old straight sixes. Anyone know of a source, besides eBay, of old six cylinder stuff? I'm talking like late 40s and early 50s, specifically for the Chevy 235 and 261 engines.

1976 coolant temp sensor part number needed

Since you mentioned that you’ve received incorrect parts from Napa in the past it’s just the easiest thing to check. On my 1980 K25 454 I use that sender I posted, part number TS71 and it works fine for me. I don’t have much experience trouble shooting temp senders. I read another post on here...

1976 coolant temp sensor part number needed

Are you sure it’s the sender for a truck with gauges and not the switch for trucks without gauges (idiot lights)? The SENDER is for a gauge, the SWITCH is for an idiot light. Very similar and easily confused (I’ve made that mistake before).

    Fuse Bulkhead connector difference?

To add to my previous post, I don’t know much of anything about the wiring of TBI because my squares are ‘73 and ‘80 and I run carbs, but I will say when deciding which bulkhead connector to use it may depend on whether you plan to run TBI or carb. If you want to run TBI you may want to stick...

    Fuse Bulkhead connector difference?

Now it makes sense. I’m guessing your cab is an ‘87 because it has the newer style bulkhead connector while the rest of it is pre-87 because the under hood wiring goes into an older style bulkhead connector. Correct? To make it work you need to decide which style bulkhead connector you want to...

    Fuse Bulkhead connector difference?

You’ve confused me. Not sure what you mean by 81-87 TBI. TBI was introduced in 87. I did some research on bulkhead connectors a few months ago, and someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but the bulkhead connector in the third pic, was used from ‘76 - ‘86. Before ‘76 they had the old style...

    Unbelievable Turn Signal Issues

Not sure what you mean by motorcycle light or trailer light. Any pics? Start by getting yourself a wiring diagram for your truck if you don’t already have one. You can download one from the reference library on this forum. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/1973-1991-wiring-manuals.14498/

    fuel gauge needle

@SirRobyn0 I’m at work in the oilfield and I won’t be back home until Sunday, so Monday is the soonest I can send it out. I’m not interested in making money on it, just looking to have the shipping costs covered. $30 ought to do it and if I ship it Monday the 20th you should have Thursday the...

Best flowing muffler that'll quiet down my motor?

MagnaFlows. Just got some put on my ‘73 C20 350. I don’t know what kind of black magic is going on inside the MagnaFlows, but they are fairly quiet at idle and light throttle so you can cruise around town without being too obnoxious, but when you open it up it’s about as loud as straight pipe.

    fuel gauge needle

@SirRobyn0 I presume you are looking for the larger fuel gauge for the gauge cluster without tach? If so, I have a factory fuel gauge out of an ‘80. LMC says this design was used from ‘79 - ‘87, so I think it’s what you’re looking for. I don’t mean step on @idahovette toes, but I have it you...

    Question about transmission

I have the same set up except its a two wheel drive. I even have the AVS2 carb and everything. I don't know exactly which brand the bracket it is because my dad put it on and then later gifted the truck to me, but it is very similar to this one. You mount in on the left rear carb stud through...

To Gasket, or not to Gasket?

For valve covers specifically, I use rubber gaskets with Permatex Aviation Number 3 liquid gasket maker. I've never, ever had a leak from anything I've used the aviation gasket maker on, including valve covers, water pump, water neck, and around the water passages on the intake gaskets. There...

'77 K10 Fuel Gauge Not Accurate

I see your post is over a month old. Any luck with it? My grandpa installed an aftermarket aux fuel tank on my '80 K25 and had a regular, garden variety toggle switch for the gauge and used a separate manual switch over valve to actually switch which tank you were drawing fuel from. Just a few...

Is anybody building OEM style wiring harnesses?

I second what @Raider L said. I replaced the wiring myself in my 1980 K25. It was a learning experience with frustrating moments, but the knowledge and experience I gained was invaluable and I wouldn’t buy harness next time either. I’d do it myself again. You can buy packs of 11 color, 100 foot...

    Intake is Outgoing

Yeah, it’s yours. I work away from home in the oilfield. Monday is the soonest I will be able to get it shipped. Once I ship it I’ll let you know what the actual shipping cost is and if could send a money gram or whatever for the shipping that’d be awesome. You can email me the address you want...

    Intake is Outgoing

Here is a current pic of it. Like I said earlier, it’s been off for a year now so it has some rust and will need to be cleaned up. The front water pump bypass fitting still needs to be removed. Otherwise it’s good. You can have it if you want to pay the shipping.
