Back to the radiator questions and related to my need for a new radiator. I have a 1991 V1500 with the 350 engine in it and need a new radiator. I want metal and preferably no aluminum. Some Input on Roll Bars (show bars), brush guards and bug deflectors
You could try a M1009 military brush guard like I am putting on my 91 Suburban. I am sure they are still around. This one took a lot of time to remove but it was not hard. -

Newbie trying to park this thing
I've got a question regarding turning radius. I've read that the steering radius can be shortened a little by changing the steering box from a 4wd box to a 2wd box and install crossover steering. Any truth to this fact I don't know but am interested in finding out. Anyone know this info?- ballencd

Thanks for the info on the wheels. Any idea on the factory offset? I found a guy on the CK5 forum who has successfully installed H3 4-piston fixed calipers and rotors on a GM 10 bolt front axle. Wheel Backspace question....
Does anyone know the stock backspacing and offset for a 1991 Suburban V1500? From what I can find they look to be 4.5" backspacing and 0 mm offset but it seems everyone thinks its different then that. Anyone know. I'm about to go out and remove my spare and measure but it would be easier if...- ballencd

A shoe repair shop should be able to sew a replacement strap also. -
Which aux trans cooler to get.
I've heard that you totally bypass the transmission internal to radiator trans cooler for best results when installing this kind of auxiliary cooler. Is that correct?- ballencd

Blazer or Suburban tank for relocation?
It was a stock factory tank but probably specified by the government for the M1009. It was used mostly for a scout vehicle and could do more then 500 miles easily on a tankful of diesel. I wish they had put a OD transmission in them though.- ballencd

It could have been the same size front to back and side to side and just deeper. It had a pretty heavy plate under it too. Both of my Suburbans have a 41 gallon tank also.- ballencd

Help with rear housing removal NP208
Hey folks, New to this site and hope I can get an idea on how to pull the rear housing on my 1988 V10 Suburban. I have new speedo gears to install and have removed drive shaft, speedo cable and 4 bolts on back of NP208 transfer case but cannot get the housing to budge. Any tricks known out...- ballencd
