I got the last of the headlight pigtails replaced and all the headlights and bezels back in place. Mounted the tucked rear bumper brackets, I need to get the rear bumper cleaned up and installed. -

Slowly getting this thing back together. Still one headlight shy of wrapping up the front end. Started with the bumper brackets for a chrome sport bumper. I got a new to me (never installed) aftermarket radio installed. -

Got the rear glass installed and the drivers door handle and sport mirror installed. I’ve been chipping away at getting all the trim and everything back installed. Got the windshield in the other day. I went with a new one with the antenna in the glass. -

Was able to get the fenders bolts down and aligned, hood on with new hinges and springs and the cowl vent plastic replaced and the cowl bolted back on. The bed is sitting in place but isn’t bolted down yet. -

I had a few hours to spare this afternoon so I got the cab prepped and taped off. 2 solid coats later and the cab is covert tan. -

Thank you guys. I'm hoping the "covert tan" comes out like the pictures I've researched of it, I wanted a cream color. It looks a bit darker in the can than what i expected but the green looked dark in the can too so.... -

After doing some items on the honey do list I was able to get the truck painted.... well the base color painted. I still need to do the other color for the rockers and the cab roof. This is GM Medium Sage Green from 2003 Avalanches and other vehicles. The roof and rockers are going with GM... -

truck is in primer!! hopefully this weekend I can get the interior and jambs painted. I'm going back with the original two tone pint scheme so that's going to be painful with all the masking and tapeing that I'm setting myself up for. -

I'm down to the cab on body work. Pulled most of the interior and looks pretty good. Must have been a bad day when this truck ran across the seam seal people... its everywhere its not supposed to go and not in the seams. Cleaning that up and cleaned up some pitting around the door jamb area... -

Patched the rust on the drivers fender and got it ready for primer and the dings worked out of it. I disassembled the passenger door and got it mostly ready for primer. I need to do a bit of sanding on the inside lower area first, if I get really ambitious I might clean up a few dings there... -
Filling small holes without welding
Agreed on the welding for the small holes. If its rusty then it might blow out to a bigger area and have to stack in a bit more weld to cover. Be patient between tacks and let it cool, the hotter it is the more it will warp/burnout larger holes. Other "hack" option is to peen in the hole a...- Drauka99

diesel to LS wiring harness?
I would get a "gas" replacement complete wiring harness for the truck and a standalone harness for the LS. the only rework on the harness you will need to do are a few gauge wires and rerouting the coil and starter wires from the truck harness to the LS fuse block.- Drauka99

beauty of GM is the bellhousing for the transmission in you K10 will work with just a bit of tweaking on the LS (one less bellhousing bolt and a different flywheel if its a manual transmission). main thing you will need is a tuner for the ECM/ECU or send it off with the necessary info for...- Drauka99

For you LS swap guys.
One other thing, if the OP goes with the stock LS radiator and lower core support, get the HD radiator... the core support is made to fit both the standard radiator and the wider "HD" one. For you LS swap guys.
mine is a non-ac truck (plan on adding a vintage air setup at some point) but there is a ton of room behind the grill and in front of the radiator for other coolers and condensers. If going AC with your LS swap things get tight on the passenger side frame rail and the stock LS ac compressor...- Drauka99

For you LS swap guys.
You can use the stock radiator and fans(and trans cooler) from the Escalade. You can chop out the lower radiator support from the Escalade and bolt it on top of the C-10 core support (I used a 3/4" rubber spacer) once that's installed you can make a couple simple brackets to bolt the fans and...- Drauka99

I inhaled a lot of bondo dust. I started cleaning off the replacement bed I acquired. Saw a funny body line... yeah was 1/2 thick bondo over an old repair. Also in the same shop my brother is building a 65 Ford... he was swapping in a 5 speed manual.... nightmare of Ford doing weird... -

I was tempted really bad recently with a 80s c-20 listing locally and also a local listing for a 8.1. My 81 had a 305 with MY6.... 2.56 axel as well. Was a dog in 4/OD, lost speed in 4th unless is was a steep downhill grade. -

body work and more body work. I've been stripping a donor hood to bare metal and cleaning up some small dings and pinholes. At some point I think someone did a driveway paint job on it and used a concrete block to scuff it and then went back with 1 can per square foot of hood with spray paint...
