Gear oil weight options 87 V10? 10 Bolt? Minor whine
Yeah Joe, I`m not sure about the source of the whine. My 87 V1500 once picked up a whine so I booted Her out the door. :happy175: Just kidding. Truck makes clicking noise while driving
About the only way to check U~Joints is to remove the drive shaft and rotate yokes and trunions, remove trunnion caps and inspect the shaft the needle rollers turn on.- MrMarty51

Great looking little Volvo
If a Volvo of that vintage sounds like a rod is knocking, get a timing gear set and change out the cam gear. it was a bakelite gear with an aluminum or steel hub, the bakelite would wobble loose from the hub and make a funny knocking noise. One thing that these engines fuel system needs is a constant fuel supply from the lift pump. I got a kit from a supplier that convers the lift pump to a relay system and also has a switch that can be turned on to prime the system. Been thinking radiator and battery. I know that's a big chunk of change. I`m going back to eork tomorrow so time will build on the pay clock then it wont feel like such a burden when I make the purchase. Other wise I`d charge the components then have that bill hanging over My head. :Caffeine... -

Welcome John. I just want to add, that is not the old 350-V8 diesel from the Oldsmobile days of the past. That is an entirely new design, of the times, it will be the 6.2 liter V-8 diesel.
