1987 TBI Misfiring
Check for steady vacuum then compression after EGR as suggested. Most times the pintle in EGR can be raised with a finger. If no change EGR is leaking. Uneven vacuum suggests an internal engine malfunction.- fast 99

Aftermarket valves sometimes are a consolidation of a few part numbers and may not flow exactly the same as the OEM number. Today have to use what is available. Qjet to 2bbl swap?

CA Smog exemption
Have state farm. They were much less than collector car insurance cos. Only thing they wrote in my policies was limited millage and not daily use. Stated agreed value did require an appraisal on one Mustang. Have heard differing feedback on claims. Your millage may vary.- fast 99

Gas in Oil!?
Fuel pumps have check valves. Replace the pump then if problem persists move on to other areas. Suspect ethanol fuel did some of the damage.- fast 99

Towing a diesel 2500 Burb on a 17’ flatbed trailer
What is the tow vehicle? Rating on that trailer both gross weight and tongue limit, how new are the tires, load rating. Have you considered a tow dolly? Yank the driveshaft and go provided vehicle has good tires and towable. -

Radiator question for an inline 6 250
To consolidate parts numbers even new radiators sometimes come with oil coolers when not needed. Plug it or not doesn't effect anything.- fast 99

Cylinder head water passage corrosion, opinions?
Not quite as radical is a new set of aluminum heads. Wished I would have done it on the last 350. By the time I found heads that weren't cracked and had them rebuilt it was very close to the same cost.- fast 99

Generally machine shops take a light cut to provide a clean new surface. Often until heads seat in there is some seepage. Many times I will drop in a bars leak pellet. Either way run it.- fast 99

exhaust question, heat riser valve connections
yes, gasket on flat side, header pipe needs to be flared. Muffler shops can provide that service. Just for the sake of doing it twice use red high temp silicone on both surfaces.- fast 99

I was emissions certified in Washington. No longer checked today. They changed to forcing EV cars on us. Anyway, I see nothing wrong with some of the emissions devices, air injection and cats are 2 of them. Neither will lower HP and reduce emissions by substantial amounts. small/front side is rear brakes. Likely a wheel cylinder leaking. Can be a master bypassing but if so the larger/rear side will be overfull. Can't answer that for sure may be someone else can. Many years ago I added additional speakers to a Ford AM radio without issues. If you delete the AIR system take the check engine light out of the cluster. ECM will detect a fault. Even if there are no inspections in your area defeating any part of the emissions system is federally illegal. Really don't understand why people remove emissions parts without complete...- fast 99
