    Tire size question

I’m sure there is some proportioning/ratio involved that changes the overall height of the tire. I just know the basics!

    Tire size question

215 / 235 is the width or footprint of the tire. The second two digit number is the sidewall height and last two digit number is the diameter of the wheel.

    Flywheel cover replacement

Still looking for one of these! If anyone has the oem part number that would be great! I see the “universal” abs plastic replacement covers but that seems like a bad idea to me.

    Tire size question

I really want to go for that old school tall and skinny mud tire look with a very plain side wall and not all the “decorative” non sense. So 215 would give me the thinner tire as opposed to a 235. I can’t seem to find too many options for a 215 in all terrain or mud though so I’ll probably go...

Convert cargo light to third brake light

I like the way you think, my friend!

Convert cargo light to third brake light

Yeah, I just fear that insurance would total the truck out depening on the extent of the damage. And in IL it’s near impossible to register/insure a salvage title vehicle. So better safe than sorry! I imagine it’s just as easy as mounting it and then tapping into existing brake light wiring...

Convert cargo light to third brake light

Anyone converted their cargo light to a third brake light? Almost been rear ended twice now because of idiots not paying attention. And I’m sure it doesn’t help that there’s only the two tail lights which are rather dim.

    Buzzer for headlights

Yes, I have the fasten seatbelt light and the buzzer sounds when I put the key in and turn it to accessory power but it doesn’t buzz when I leave the lights on and open the door. Is this a different underlying issue? Here’s under my dash:

    Trans fluid change

Awesome! Thanks fellas. I’ll check it out tomorrow and then order a gasket. Is it worth switching to a synthetic trans fluid like the Valvoline max life?

    Trans fluid change

I mean, it’s not SLAMMING. Not really audible even. Just a bit of a jolt when you feel it shift. The rest of the gears seem fine It’s only the first shift.

    Trans fluid change

Thanks brother! Hopefully it cleans up the shifts a bit. I imagine the fluid is pretty old. I need to replace the seal at the rear of the trans also I’m pretty sure. Any idea how to find what “trans code” I have? There’s tons of options on rock auto.

    Trans fluid change

Auto Trans is shifting a bit hard only into and out of first gear. Is there a write up for changing the fluid on these? I assume I might as well drop the pan and change the gasket too, should I use only RTV or the actual gasket?

    Buzzer for headlights

I keep leaving the damn running lights/headlights on when I get out of the truck. Is there a way to wire up a buzzer? Or do I already have one that isn’t working??

    Oil leak

Thanks, by “cheap” I meant I found one on eBay which is supposedly NOS ACDelco for $19 and change. Can’t go wrong there!

    Oil leak

Thanks, I guess it can’t hurt to replace for the $20 it costs.

    Oil leak

Yeah I just noticed that. Cleaned it though and no crack, just a line in the casting!

How do I go about checking the PCV system? Not too familiar with diesels at all.

    Oil leak

Alright folks, I did a bit of searching today and found a few spots that are leaking. Maybe yall can elaborate on what may be the causes of each particular leak? Leak #1 - Drivers side rear corner of intake manifold has oil around it. Leak #2 -There is a decent amount of oil all around...

    Tire size question

Yeah, my speedometer seems a little “floaty” as it is so I’m not too worried about that. More worried about fitment and/or premature tire wear due to it not being the right size. It does give me a lot more tire options If I upgrade to the 235/85’s

    Tire size question

According to my sticker 215/85/16 is the stock tire size. It’s a 2WD if that makes a difference.
