    Fuel gauge stuck? Not reading

My truck had a bad ground on the tank. I fixed it, and it started working good, except now, every now and then, the needle will go down to 1/4 tank for a few minutes, then all of a sudden it returns itself to normal. Haven't quite figured that one out yet.

    Torque converter connector

So I'm very disappointed with the tcc solenoid I bought off Ebay. Lasted only 4 months. all of a sudden my TC stopped locking up, blew the fuse. After diagnosing everything, it turned out the new solenoid fried, and shorted out the circuit. I put a another solenoid I ordered through Rockauto...

    Broken cigarette lighter compartment

The whole inner bezel comes out, should have 4 screws(two top and two on bottom). The door that actually swivels is supposed to be attached to that bezel. Just pull the whole assembly out and see if you can put some rivets in it. It also has some small L shaped springs that spring load the door...

vortec 454 external oil lines(want to delete)

My 454 had the cooler lines also, just not from the block itself. It has some kind of adaptor that goes on where the filter is located, then the filter itself screws on to the adaptor. I've doing some research on what's involved with removing that adaptor also.

Removing short bottom leaf from spring pack

I just ran into a thread on a K5 forum, This guy said he pulled the shortest leaf(6th) and the 4th leaf. He states that the flex is exceptionally good for rock crawling, but too soft for on-road use. States he lost 1 1/2" of lift though.

Removing short bottom leaf from spring pack

So I have this idea of removing the shortest bottom leaf of my spring pack, for a softer ride. Would like to know if anybody has done this, and what were the results. I have the Procomp 6" lift springs, and they are incredibly rough riding with the 20" wheels & tire combo I have.

    Dual front stabalizers

I have the procomp on my truck, it really helped out with the tracking after I put the 20x12 wheels on it.

    high beam

Your overloading the headlight switch, it has a built in circuit breaker that will make it flash when on high beams. Did you upgrad the headlights? If so, I'd look into getting a headlight harness with relays. If you didn't upgrade, your switch is bad.

    454 build for k10

I've been looking into some piston ring kits at Summit, the machine shop said they needed the pistons before boring the block. Just haven't decided which way to go, stock dish or flat top. I'm also looking for a set of large oval port heads, I've been doing a lot of research on the peanut...

    454 build for k10

So I bought this 1989 TBI 454 from a guy. I'm needing some help on where to go with it. I've never built an engine before, so I'm asking for lots of help. I tore it down, and zip-locked bagged everything. I took the block to the machine shop and had it super-cleaned( baked and shot peened), it...

    Steering problems

Remanufactured gear boxes are not what they are all cracked up to be. The only thing they replace for the most part is the bearings and rubber seals. The worn out worm gears & shaft gears seem to get overlooked for some reason, and don't get replaced. I had to return a reman box 3 times, before...

Pulling to the right when braking

Well, after a long and expensive endeavor(replacing tie rods, drag links bearings, calipers, steering gear, etc), it was my power steering pump. Why, I still don't have an answer for it. All I know is that I changed it out for the hell of it one day, and whola! no more pulling to the right when...

    Help! What is this???

Its the blend door vacuum control. It goes on your a/c/heater control unit. It routes vacuum to the blend doors inside your cab to direct air flow.

    Steering wheel position changes position

I think you nailed it Chengny, I while back I put on a jeep shaft on, to replace the rag joint. After I read what you wrote, I went and checked it out. I must have over tightened the bolt that clamps that side of the shaft together on the gear box. I stripped the threads. I'm gonna get a longer...

    Ball Joints: self vs shop

I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my truck, but I'm going with Moog ball joints. I've been looking into it for some time now. Your gonna need a spanner socket to remove the inner adjusting sleeve on the top ball joints. I have read that a lot of people don't even mess with it, just use...

    Steering wheel position changes position

A couple weeks ago I put in a new steering gear box, put the pitman arm and drag link together, took it for a spin, adjusted the drag link so my steering wheel was centered, all was good. Then all of a sudden a couple weeks later, I'm driving around normally, and my steering wheel is off center...
