I got a 78 K20 in last week that they had changed over to a 81 body. They had cut around a 1" off front of frame to make new style bumper fit and it looked stock fit. I was guessing the new style frame was a 1" shorter in frame horns why I was Thinking there would need be some mods done on it.

I change all mine over to manual hubs after I got stranded with the auto hubs once. I got in a snow drift and pulled the lever for 4wd and got alot of noise from the auto hub not engaging because the grease was to stiff from the cold. As Bucket says I run my hubs locked when weather or road...

    Conversion square eyes to round?

Other than changing sheet metal, wiring harness, Bumper you will have to change the wiper transmission. The 81 up use longer transmissions and they won't clear the hood of a 73-87. I don't belive there is any other cowl mods needed. I know if going 73-80 to newer you have to modifiy cowl for...

Can anyone id this p/s pump?

the presure line nut should unscrew out of the back where you can use center out of another pump in your housing. I used to change alot of the centers out and use oldsmoble hydroboost guts in my chevy pumps to make smoother steering. Kinda looks like a older P30 (forward control)smallblock pump...

Steering Column / Ignition Cylinder / Turn Signal Repair

just a heads up some of the earlier ignition tumblers don't stay in with a screw, they have a lock tab at front of cylinder (from turn signal switch compartment) that needs to be pressed in to release them to pull them out. I'm wanting to say 73-77 era ones were the ones I'm talking about
