I would look at the distributor cap and coil. Had a similar problem and found the cap was breaking down.

TBI Throttle Body Tear Down and Rebuild.

If you stack gaskets you will have a greater chance of a vacuum leak and that will cause headaches getting the system to run properly.

TBI Throttle Body Tear Down and Rebuild.

It does serve as a benefit but creates limitations in doing so. The benefit is to increase the air velocity at low speed but starves the engine at the top end. This goes back to the engineering process, they design it to operate in a defined range but we want it to perform in a completely...

General Engine Related Talk and Questions

John, check on the system I have. It is made by Pype's, the street pro. It has a little growl at idle but is very quiet at cruise.

    Engine wiring/vacuum connections!

Do we have a place to upload folders? I have most of the diagrams for the squares and will share them. Trevis it is a lot more painless than rewiring from scratch. Send me a PM if you need help.

tbi flooding out, gas in oil, injectors pouring not spraying

That is correct. I have had a number of the units do that and flood the engine while running, especially if the breather is on.

    700r4 is done

HotRod, how well does the 700 hold up with the TCI valve body? It runs a constnat pressure and avoids the problems of a misadjusted TV.

tbi flooding out, gas in oil, injectors pouring not spraying

Check the regulator. They have been known to go bad and leak causing the rich condition. Since it has been sitting up it may have a crack in the diaphram.

    Smog Canister Question

We had some heads with the exhaust crossover blocked off so I drilled and tap the intake for 5/8" NPT and ran cold water under the intake plenium. Worked great for a year until they changed the rules damnit!

    Engine wiring/vacuum connections!

Technically yes it is. The ground is provided by the contact of the screw into the firewall sinse it has a rubber boot behind the flange. The problem occurs if the single ground doesn't have the amp carrying capacity stuff starts to melt, that is why there is a pigtail to the other strip on the...

    TBI Issues, #8 Cylinder Dead

Only pictures are of it not in the truck. Couldn't get the bugs worked out on the dyno before I went back to work so am currently running the same engine on a carb. And yes, all I did was change the intakes. I have people ask all the time if it still has the EFI cam in it.

    Smog Canister Question

HotRod, there are many more secretive ways of cooling air/fuel charge that don't use a evap cannister. Man that would be a nightmare to plumb!!

It should go to the gauges.

    Engine wiring/vacuum connections!

The ground strip to the left of the parking brake pedal is the main grounding buss for the dash area. One wire should run from the strip to the base of the steering column as the one you have pictured, another should run into the harness going to the gauges. The other tabs on the ground would be...

can I increase return line on mechanical fuel pump??

Jason is correct. If you run the mechanical pump dry it will cause a diaphram failure. The gas acts as a collant as it passes through the pump.
