    Multiple Antenna

Looks like I will just go with the windshield antenna then, I rarely listen to am radio anyways. Is the windshield split antenna better for reception or quality on fm waves?

    Multiple Antenna

Interesting, I've heard both good and not so good for both types of antennas, so I thought why not get the best of both, but I guess I don't understand how antennas work then...

    Q Logic Kick Panel Enclosures

I'm looking to upgrade sound and was looking at these kick panel forms from Q logic: http://www.qlogicenclosures.com/collections/q-logic-enclosures/products/q-logic-q-forms-ql-k1006c Anybody have these in their truck? How'd they work out for you? Is the parking break still functional? How much...

    Multiple Antenna

I just had a new windshield put in, and I went with the one that has the antenna inside the windshield (it was cheaper, actually). The old windshield didn't have one in it, and there is a mast antenna installed on the front passenger side. Have the dash out now, and I see the factory coax...

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

This is great stuff! I did some searching and found that manual, I will add to my reading list. So, I will be using the tap above the oil filter and be leaving that switch up by the distributor alone. It also seems like it will be easier to get a wrench on anyway. One question I still have...

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

Harness wiring is not an issue, I will be running a single new wire myself from the sender directly to the gauge for the resistance reading. I'm wondering why I would have two though... My 350 is TBI and doesn't have a choke. Shouldn't I just have one for the gauge/light? ECU does not read oil...

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

Thanks for the link chengny, I have referenced your helpful images before in my searching. Let me back up here for a sec. I am upgrading to the gauge cluster from the idiot lights, and need to put in an oil pressure sender for the gauge. Do I have the option of putting it in either location? Is...

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

Thanks for the response firebane! Is your oil pressure gauge at the top, near the distributor, or is it lower by the oil filter?

1/4" or 1/8" Thread for Oil Pressure Sending Unit?

For the oil pressure sending unit for the gauge (not the idiot light) what is the thread size? I'm seeing 1/4"-18 and 1/8"-27 at parts stores - both for the gauge. I want to order before I get in there. Also, is draining the oil necessary for this job?

Need to replace crimped heater inlet hose

Here's a picture. I've been reading on other forms that people have had problems with this pipe crumbling and being a pain to remove. The pipe seems ok (I don't plan on attempting to take it out -- I'll tackle that when I have my intake off at some point) So I think cutting the crimp off...

Need to replace crimped heater inlet hose

I have an 87 TBI, I think some things are a bit different.... I do have the hole on the water pump for the heater hose, but it is plugged. The heater hose is stock, but the water pump is aftermarket I think to accommodate the other hose routing option.

Need to replace crimped heater inlet hose

See image below, #41. There's a metal line coming out of the block and the 5/8" heater inlet hose is crimped to this pipe. I need to replace this hose, but can't find any replacements anywhere. I have some bulk 5/8" hose, has anybody fab'd anything up before for this?

    Torsional Damper AND crankshaft seal?

No leaks, I was just wondering if there was a reason the two were listed in tandem in the service manual –*as if removing the balancer would damage the seal, or a if a worn out balancer causes the seal to go.

    Torsional Damper AND crankshaft seal?

Going to be replacing the harmonic balancer/torsional damper this weekend, and as I was reading the factory service manual, it coupled the balancer replacement with the front crankshaft seal... Is it necessary to change this front seal out when replacing the damper? Any other tips on this job...

    Newb question on valve cover

Great! Thanks for the tips. I will look into that pry bar thing too: I think I'll go for a tool specifically designed for it so I can do it right my first time. Compressor has it's own hole for applying tension, are there any other tricks for the other pulleys? (I have 4)

    Newb question on valve cover

Exactly, thanks that was the problem I was having – not able to clear the rocker arms. I'm also going to be changing the belts soon, but have always worked on serpentine belts with one of the pulleys that provides the tension, never dealt with the V-belt system. So just losen the bolts that...

    SM465 Clutch Reservoir

Nobody carries that reservoir line anymore, not the dealers, nobody. Dealers and auto stores also don't carry the reservoir diaphragm, that's the rare item. Luckily, after inspection, mine is still good and so is the cap. I will be reusing the reservoir, cap, and diaphragm. As for the reservoir...

    Newb question on valve cover

So I swapped out the old valve cover gasket on the passenger side, no problem, but when I got to the driver's side, unbolted screws and moved harness out of the way, and also tried moving brake booster clamp thing out of the way, but I still could not wiggle the cover off because of clearance...

    SM465 Clutch Reservoir

Where did you see that? I looked all over on Rock Auto at different models (and years too) and didn't see it. To be clear, I'm not talking about the hydraulic line between slave and master, I mean the non-pressurized hose from master to reservoir.

Does anybody know the exact size (inner diameter) of the reservoir line?

    SM465 Clutch Reservoir

I need some help finding a new clutch master cylinder reservoir and hose. My hose is cracked and leaking, and I can't find a replacement anywhere. Does nobody make the reservoir and/or reservoir hose/line to the master anymore??? Are there any other models/vehicles that are compatible that...

    87 350 TBI Running Rough

Problem solved! Smoothandlow was right! It was a bad spark plug after all. I took all the plugs out again and found #5 was completely clean and the resistance tested very high. Replaced with a brand new one, and everything is back to normal. One thing that I'm still not sure of, is why my...

    87 350 TBI Running Rough

Interesting... looking into timing now. I did not think timing was adjustable on this fuel injection/electronic distributor engine.
