Tailgate trim panel sheet clip nuts?

Finally getting back to this. Anyone know what size clip is used for the trim panel? I took a look at the parts store and the universal-type stuff looked all wrong. Can't find anything online without some idea of size. Weird there is literally nothing out there about this.

Adjusting rear drums - pulling trailers

Something else to note or look at. Some of these trucks had a "load leveling valve" or something that would adjust rear brake force based on the weight on the back of the truck. It's a weird lever-like thing up under the bed above the pumpkin. You should see the rear brake lines going to it...

    Summit BBC Headers

I just picked up a set of ceramic coated headers for the C30 from Summit. Also grabbed an H-Pipe to connect them together. Anybody have any experience installing these things on a BBC Square? Just curious how much trouble it was. They sure are purdy though, aren't they?

    Crew Cab Headliner

Who is this guy? They ass-hats that installed an aftermarket sunroof in my 3+3 tossed the original headliner board and removed 90% of the inner roof. Now that I removed the sunroof it would be nice to cover up the mess with a new headliner board, but I can't find one. Like anywhere. It's really...

Heater hose now connected to water pump - no heat?

Ok then, since I do not have a port on the intake for a heater core connection (pretty sure it was originally a marine intake), can I replace the heater bypass hose with the heater circuit? i.e. run the front manifold port to the core, then run that back to the water pump? Rather than use the...

Heater hose now connected to water pump - no heat?

I just got finished doing a top-end rebuild on the 454. New cam, new old-school winters intake. Etc. The new intake did not have a heater hose provision, so I decided to plumb the heater hose to the second port on the top of the water pump. See pics below. The problem is I am not getting...

Tailgate trim panel sheet clip nuts?

I'm trying to figure out what to call / what size clip-nuts I need to re-attach the trim panel to my tailgate. My Dad calls the 'Jesus nuts' because they always break or fall out - making you go "Jesus!" lol Anybody know what the heck to call them and what size I need? The old ones rotted out...

    Engine Boom Progress

The deed is done. It runs! We got her fired up Saturday and broke her in. Took the first test drive yesterday and drove it to work today! About damn time this project is finished! Oh and I have cold A/C too!!!

    Engine Boom Progress

Long story short... It ain't coming out. I dunno what the hell they did but its in there. Tried drilling and it dulled all my drills. Finally got a hole big enough for an easy-out to bite and.... It ROUNDED OFF THE EASY OUT. F'ing thing must be made of titanium or something. So I ordered an...

    Engine Boom Progress

Went to put the carb on last night and discovered that somebody had plugged the front two q-jet carb bolt holes with little allen-head plugs (pic below). I got the one out, but the other one is IN THERE. It rounded off every allen key I had, and when I finally found a good key (a MAC t-handle)...

Apparently not. We've got 4 kids under 5 so we boogied out the Thursday before the storm when it looked like it was going to t-bone us. Turns out we just got a little wind and rain. Oh well. Work gave me a free paid week off so I guess I can't complain.

That's the new high-performance fan blade I'm putting on it. I heard it really... cuts down on the HP losses of a traditional fan!

    Engine Boom Progress

After getting back from the impromptu trip away from home that resulted from a stupid hurricane, I'm back on this project. My Dad and I buttoned up the engine on Saturday and started getting it all hooked up yesterday. We ran out of steam before we could actually start it, but I'm hoping that...

Good notes. I don't think the metal thing would be an issue as it's a brand new transmission, but the other notes easily convinced me! Although I can't imagine it could get any worse than 6mpg. Any lower and I'll have to switch to gallons per mile!

I sure hope the cam works out. It's pretty beefy, so I hope the stock low compression does not hurt it. The intake is painted silver/aluminum. Raw it looks kinda funny with the brass water passages showing through (look on ebay, there's a few examples showing how odd it looks). My Dad is...

Got the heads on last night. The intake is just sitting there. I can say that one issue with it is that my accessory brackets don't line up with it at all, so that's going to be a bit of a problem. Looks purdy though!

Well I got the old Camaro RV 454 installed.... Fired up nice and easy and ran good. Except for the fact that coolant was POURING out the driver's side exhaust. Literally coming out as a liquid plus lots of smoke. Yikes. Pulled it all back apart, looked at the head gaskets and they are ok...

    Engine Boom Progress

Ugh. Now I really found a problem. In the process of pulling the RV engine to put in the truck I found oil in the coolant. LOTS of oil. As in so much oil that when I wipe my finger across the coolant passage under the thermostat it comes back greasy and black. Naaassstttyyyy..... The oil level...

    Engine Boom Progress

Slight change of plans... I realized that the engine I'm building is going to put out a hell of a lot more power so.... It's going in the Camaro! I'm going to pull the stock 60k mile RV 454 out of the Camaro and drop it in the truck. It'll probably be more reliable, and the new rat will fit a...

Heads are done. I did probably 75% of the work myself, which was cool. The shop owner was having some knee trouble and didn't feel up to lugging these big-ass heads around, so I basically acted as an apprentice and did whatever was needed. The valves needed a good cleaning to get all the carbon...

    Engine Boom Progress

Yep, that's the one. I'm going to run it. I know I could get decent money for this one IF I sold it. IF. They get good money on eBay, but I don't know if they are selling. I don't really have time to wait and I do NOT have the budget for another intake. Plus, I like the old school hotrodding...

    Engine Boom Progress

Oh damn. I saw intake in your question and read heads for some reason. My bad! This will be a ----- intake (old-school Winters aluminum dual plane - pretty sure for a boat due to brass water passages) installed on the small oval (peanut) heads. I got it for $35 so don't judge... EDIT: For...

No, its the old-school peanuts. I forget the casting number. They are the stock heads for the truck.
