Burb is no-go - fuel pump or filter??

I agree with Traz also, being ignition related. Maybe wiring to the coil. Common failures there. The gray & black connector duo The fact you only have 6psi is weird too though

Burb is no-go - fuel pump or filter??

No... TB only requires 9-12psi. But preferably 13psi in my experience

Stuck valve cover, 350 sbc, 74 GMC

Hot or cold for me... never had any difference. You may want to chase the holes & bolts with dies & taps. This will get all the grime off. It will make the bolts thread easier come assembly. I doubt the PO only used the gasket maker because there's a huge gap in between. Although like many...

Stuck valve cover, 350 sbc, 74 GMC

When prying with the screw driver, ONLY pry a the bolt holes... this will help prevent distortion of the valve covers. When bolted back down, the bolts will straighten everything back up again. Can't straighten if anywhere in between.

Ah yes! Could call on the SES with key on feature. The simple things that can verify ECM function.

    ECM B fuse keeps blowing

This may be the correct one. 87 305 TBI Sometimes the colors vary by year but the components should be the same. A1- grn/wht- this wire is used to energize the fuel pump relay. A2- not used A3- not used A4- gry- to EGR relay.(optional) This is a ground from the ECM to control the EGR relay...

    ECM B fuse keeps blowing

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet. You need to "pinout" those wires going to the ECM. For 1, to rule out one of the wires to it... could be melted with another wire. 2nd, you don't want to destroy or burn up another ECM by not verifying the harness & its wires. Go through the...

    Tbi nightmare

The whole rebuild kit is better and comes out to be the same cost as just the pressure regulator itself... & doesn't come with the needed gaskets, like the TBI to Intake. The rebuild kit does.

    ECM B fuse keeps blowing

Here's the link to the wiring schematic thread. http://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/1973-1991-wiring-manuals.14498/ Also the ignition switch comes to mind as well.... this ties in the same circuit.

    ECM B fuse keeps blowing

Ah ok...I don't remember the exact year they transitioned. The TBI injectors tie into one of the ECM fuses. Also there's a thread on here that contains all (or most of) the service manual pdfs. Many also include the schematics. That should definitely help track down the issue. I doubt you...

Is it still carbureted or is it TBI?

    Tbi nightmare

The only thing I'd add on the fuel tuneup is changing the fuel pressure regulator in the TBI... it's only a rubber diaphragm and this controls the fuel pressure after the fuel pump. I'd actually do this prior to the fuel pressure check because if the regulator is failing, this will give false...

Oh boy... I should bring a couple balls & a bat then, eh? Lol Hey, it's a rarity to have a female that lurks the forums & actually has useful input or info to add. So I can understand..... I don't think I've been on many forums where a girl wasn't just on there to flirt, post alleged pics of...

    Transmission Leak

Well that's good then.... the level very high means you didn't lose too much. With truck running, check level, and if the level is within cross hatch or below level.... you'll know that at least the pump should be fine, a major & important component within the trans. Just trying to help narrow...

    Transmission Leak

I'm certainly jealous! Blazer convertible. ... never even knew they existed! How high or low is it on the dip stick now... without running? It should be up quite high with the engine off.... once started, it should be in the hash marks, obviously. Sometimes looking at the level before...

Resolved cooling issue-UPDATE post 8-better but not perfect

I put a 160 in the summer... but just for summer. I say 180F is the sweet spot cuz you don't have to worry about it year round.... especially if you want good heat in the winter.
