    84 electrical issue.

Some of the issue maybe due to a faulty flasher. There are 2 on most GMs. One on front of fuse box under dash, and 1 on the back side of same fuse box, if I recall correctly. I forget which is which when it comes to turn signal or hazard flashing though. (After looking at a few schematics...

    need help !!!!!

Sounds like someone did some front end work without aligning the vehicle after, like a tie rod end. Does anything else in the steering look new or recently molested? or the Gear box could be having something going on with it. Need to jack up the front end on stands, and maybe have a buddy or...

No tail lights or cluster lights

look for areas of rubbing, maybe loose harness, anything that may have been pinched and cut at some point. If any work was done underneath that you know of, that would be another area. Just trying throw out all ideas I can. Rubbing, vibration, or heat are usually the main factors.

No tail lights or cluster lights

I can't remember how they're routed through the cab, but I thought they went through the driver's footwell area and under the carpet. I tried to go through those schematics but they'so so wide and big, I'd have to print them out to SEE where the connections are. Since the fuse is not blowing...

but the fuse wasn't blown? so issue is a broken wire from block to rear lights then. Only thing I can imagine

brown wire is only hot when tail/parking lights are on or should be hot. Is this when you're checking it?

I partially agree with this, if it's hunting gears, they hate it. Just trying to see what exactly driver is doing vs trans 1st.

I wonder if you have a tach... if you do, what does tach say @45mph when you're just accelerating to 55, let's say? You say you need to let off before it shifts, but it could also be normal to hold 3rd, depending on rpm and load. I may not shift into 4th until I hit 50mph or 55mph and that's...

I hear ya. Is he the type to show you the work he's doing... as in this TV adjustment? It doesn't take long, and it's not like you'd be in his way. If hes dropping the pan, which is best, to be 100% sure. Then you can confirm that he knows what he's doing compared to what I shared on that post...

I'm quite sure we had a few links on the thread I posted earlier on here. Along with chat about cable angles at the carb. Been a while since I've had to install one on a carb, as most are throttle body that I deal with. Same concept, and same final adjustment though

I don't understand WHY he would have you drive it without it being adjusted FIRST. I'm sorry but that doesn't make sense to me. Yes there's a break in period with hard parts & let them wear in a little, but allowing it to break in with the sole purpose of changing the fluid again, I can...

How's the passing gear from 1 to 2... or 2 to 3? Does it down shift nad hold like it's supposed to? That'll give a little insight to what may be the prob

    Lead Additive

That sounds awesome! I'm sure cleans out the engine as well, maybe get rid of some deposits?

    Lead Additive

I've used it on old Model T & A's... as their system is a bit different, as they're more primitive. I'm talking 1908 through 1914s The lead raises the octane level, I believe, and less wear on internal engine parts. On more recent vehicles, like 70s or newer, IDK how they'd be affected. It's...

Ahhh, so that's what it is. I'm in Philly, all lost in translation with that crap NY accent.

No tail lights or cluster lights

Sorry dude, didn't see it as sarcasm. Moving on. A good idea is to print out those schematics for the lights. Then mark what & where you've checked and what results were. Orange is power out from headlight switch to light up interior light only when dome switched on or with door open. Good...

New key tumbler, now no start

Ahh. OK that's normal. Start is strictly for cranking and once key comes back to run, it'll come back on. It's possible it's a fuse... but I'm quite sure this particular system (starter) has no fuse, only fusible link. I don't think that's your problem either, even tho I'm not there. On TOP of...

New key tumbler, now no start

Are you sure the tumbler is fully seated? You say you hear the fuel pump whine? When is that if when you turn the key it stops?

    Blower motor not working

Sounds like that blower is defective and pulling too many amps. I don't think the main orange wire is pinched cuz I don't think it'd run on the lower settings. In other words, electricity takes the path of least resistance or straight to short every time -kinda talking aloud. Just weird it...

Yeah, on my end I see no signature. I did try looking for something before asking. Thanks BlueOX. Very appropriate but even more appropriate would be jacka$$ Jim.

Some vehicle info would help to see what schematics to look at too.

No tail lights or cluster lights

A huge contributer to interior lights staying on would be a shorted door switch, and it's grounded all the time. Or... the wire for that system somewhere is rubbed or melted through completing that circuit. Courtesy lights and lights under the dash are all the same system... the courtesy light...

    Ignition Trouble

I would check both ends of the ground cable. Sometimes oxidation impedes good contact on the block or frame. You want to have clean, rust free spots to bolt to. Also check the ends where they bolt to the block & frame. They sometimes have 2 different metals and oxidize within. Copper stranded...

TBI injectors dumping fuel with key on, engine off

If your cranking, it's because it gets power through oil sender as well. GM's backup. If key on, it should only go on for 2 seconds then cut off, as a part of ECM prime.
