Looks it was 87 that had both the rainbow & taps... not 89. Here's a unicorn. So this had a Aux VB then.

Gotcha. @74 Shortbed @HotRodPC And that makes sense about using up the leftover 86s so it does sound like wishful thinking. Never know though I suppose. This by far has been my favorite thread on here recently. Totally immersed! I'm anxious to hear what A&A says too.... Tmrw, eh? Tmrw my VB...

    700r4 Issues

Do you mean, for the rare 89 HotRod mentioned? The one I'm modifying now has all those taps.. but it's an 86. TV started acting up, so now was as good a time as any to do it before it hurt anything.

Lmao!!! @HotRodPC Oh man! The people who are so stupid, they are just too stupid to understand HOW STUPID they are!! Surely a waste of time to argue with that type... lol I like that idea... but most girls I know, including myself, don't spend too long a time on the John... I'd barely get a...

I tend to do the same, otherwise the yards get rid of them eventually. Good quality metal & parts are becoming harder to come by. Older vehicle parts are also becoming harder to come by. Most of our scrap metal heading over seas to China & Russia... and in turn they send us back diluted cheap...

Depending on the case then, the VB may not be compatible. If using an 87 or newer VB, then older case can be used but it must be modified. One of the worm channel wall must be cut or ground out in the case. Or vice versa. Newer case can't be used with the pre 87 VB because one of the worm...

I edited after looking up the info and verify with my notes... it's enlarging that existing hole and enlarging others. No, i wouldn't trust the retainer solely either... just added help

    700r4 Issues

If in fact it was the front seal that blew out again, for one they make a retainer for it... but also one of the modifications is to drill the drainback hole in the pump bigger...and using the same bit to enlarge some other holes in the pump and its cover. the bit should be bewtween 9/32" to...

Yeah, ditto on my area's local builders... which is why I'm stuck on doing it myself. So far, so good... Can't wait for the overhaul.

    Filler hose issue

After thinking about it further and thinking outside the box... you could probably go into your typical auto parts store... after knowing the measurements, and go straight to the exhaust couplings. You could probably get away with using exhaust couplings and some worm hose clamps. However, if...

    Filler hose issue

Do you have the dimensions of the tank opening (OD)? And what the length & OD of the filler neck is? Im sure there's someone who makes a molded hose or maybe a coupling out there. Like Gates or some other aftermarket source. You just want to be sure you still have the vent hose too, if...

Yeah, I was about to post similar... more recently I've come across many threads about the Monster brand... many complaints. I just couldn't remember where I read them. I don't know much about the latter 2 mentioned either.. and also haven't come across them much in my homework to comment...

This is good idea too. I'm rusty on which weights to use when adjusting, but they'll be the bigger changes in shift points... then the springs are for the fine tuning. Checkout YouTube. When I initially started doing my homework, this was a great visual on how things worked. Provided that...

correct... and when going back in be sure to have Assemblee lube to hold a few of those things together. Best to have a buddy hold everything up in the bore with a skinny driver while 2nd person installing the snap ring (when it comes time for reassembly). Sometime the snapring pliers have to...

No it doesn't, pump definitely does not have to come out. My 1st trans mod, I installed the .500 Boost Valve. It can be accessed from the pan area. You're correct, it does not come with the Jr kit though. This is one of things you must remove anyway to do mods on the PR Valve if not already...

Totally missed this post...LOL Yeah, I prefer the garage... I prefer the immaturity & horseplay versus hair, makeup & nails... 100% agree.. I missed the torque specs on the engine too looks like... but these can definitely handle more torque than 350 when done right.. quite possibly to 550...

Yes, that's what all my prior mods were the JR... or SK700-Jr... it's economical and does still touch on his specific problems... quite simple to do himself even. Done in a day with taking his time. The one I'm in the middle of now is the bigger one... But the Jr has done me well with used...

Actually that's not exactly this kit is for... but in your case a combination of TV cable misadjusment, possible stuck TV valve in the VB, and the wrong weights or springs in the governor... I'm no builder by trade, although have been tinkering and modifying a few lately, I just know quite a...

Yes, I'm the new girl. Have had my share of input in other forums... mostly a creeper in this one until recently. Lol I agree the 5 planets is junk, over sold by unknowledgeable ppl. I've done TONS of research over the years solely on the 700R4... because I own 2. Have done work on both, and...

    LED Courtesy light not working

I believe you're correct there. The 2 solder points on the end are for each filament in a regular incandescent bulb. 1 for parking lights (dim filament), the other for brake (bright filament) The courtesy light should only have 1 solder joint on the tip. The bands you speak of are the little...
