Fuel delivery issues (Air in fuel line)

You said you replaced both pickup assemblies in the tanks... were they a reputable brand? No kinks anywhere? Need to start back at the beginning unfortunately. If it's still picking up air whether or not tanks are full, this is not sounding right. You've done a lot of work so far and lots...

    Alternator wiring

In most alternators which include internal regulators, need to have some resistance to the field power wire. This is what turns on the alt. to charge after engine has started. 10ohms 6 watts resistor or just use an incandescent light bulb (which acts like a resistor) .... now if you have a...

    350 Tbi running bad

I agree You can see the exhaust light up at the end of the clip... although the flash is near the cat versus tailpipe.

Nice! Thanks! I assume there's a video in that link but I can't watch on my phone. I appreciate the lesson!

    350 Tbi running bad

It's the base that moves when adjusting degrees or advancing/retarding... so rotor should still point to 1 I guess you could be right about the difference in both pics though. But that would directly connect to slack... still could've jumped a tooth depending on the gears used on this engine...

    350 Tbi running bad

True, not everyone is picky about dizzy placement. And it could be fine the way it is too. I am, though because for me it helps diagnose things a little faster, at least on my vehicles. I agree with compression testing at least, to check off things of possibility too. It would be nice to avoid...

Won't start after it warms up

It very well could be an issue with the diaphragm & spring... at least change the diaphragm (you can reuse the spring) because it could be "pooched" or leaking internally. I find that initially the pressure is higher anyway to compensate for cold starts but gradually comes down. I would...

    Back brakes lock before fronts

I've also found under adjusted shoes can make them lock up when lightly applying the brakes too. So common with GM throughout the years. As @highdesertrange said, make sure the shoes are properly oriented. Could be anything... but watching post now to see what it turns out to be ;)

Yeah, from my info it looks like it did. The rotor should be pointing to more 5 o'clock versus 7 o'clock shown in the photo...

    Low Oil Pressure???

No way to really tell unless you use a mechanical gauge to test. Then you can be sure one way or the other & make note if really off. But I doubt it's at zero when warm...lol could be a loose connection at the pressure sender or it's starting to fail. Not very expensive if it turns out to be...

    Back up light issues

Yes, on the automatic it's somewhat adjustable...I believe it's part of the neutral safety switch. But it may be just the spring/wire for shift selection slightly off. Oh, and they could wear out partially & not completely break. To answer the 1st parr. It's the contacts within the switch. ...

    700r4 Issues

From what I read they were for checking for leaks within the clutch packs... according to the 1st Gen ATSG manual. You'd compare the pressure readings for converter tap on driver's side to each of the clutch packs... IDK while in gear or not, I don't remember. The pressures are supposed to be...

    700r4 Issues

I have only 3 at the moment, all 2nd Gen with Aux VB...I believe. I had to check mine that same night we were talking about it. No, nine of them have the shell or any upgrades. In fact these are all original... 1 '89, 2 '88s... the only mods are the ones I put in. And when I overhaul my 1st...

What could it be? I'm about to poop on the floor.

Our piss water is about the same... maybe slightly higher. Most of the statons are 10% but a few are trying hard to push 40%? plus on us. Did you know it actually costs more to make the ethanol than it does to just continue producing regular petrol? The equipment used to make the ethanol use...

You are an exception, unfortunately. Even my local builders aren't that bad. I'd expect at least 30-40k... but a quality job should last a good 100k at least, IMO

Dag on it! Wished I lived in the south or farther west. Idk why such a price difference here. It's like Cali or NY prices vs the rest of the states.... insane on the gas though.

Wow... then that trans surely didn't last long. I know a suburban isn't very light so it does push the trans a bit more, but still... 20k isn't jack. This time around I guess it'll be done right!

What could it be? I'm about to poop on the floor.

In my area... SE PA, Iwish it was that cheap. They want up to $12 per gal for ethanol free. Just shy of what high octane gas for racing costs!! It's obnoxious. The only positive is I'll always have work on fuel systems here... especially small equipment like landscaping. I just hate the...

350 TBI Runs Rough When EGR Valve Opens

Ahhh, nice tidbit of info. Makes sense. This issue is on a newer 4x2 GMC 5.3ltr... but also a common issue to have the manifold bolts break. 8 to 12 hr job to do both banks, but when he finally breaks down to do it, I'll be reinforcing the manifolds with steel brackets so this never happens...

350 TBI Runs Rough When EGR Valve Opens

That's interesting. Didn't think leaks in the exhaust manifold would make that much difference. So you did this repair and there's a difference? Besides noise & loss of backpressure... It didn't occur to me that there'd be a direct correlation with the way it runs. Obviously, there would b...
