    What oil should I use?

Just because you don't visibly see the leak doesn't mean it isn't evaporating out some or only leaks while driving. Idle running isn't enough to test the cap, usually. The only real way to test the cap is with a pressure tester. As far as the rad, they're almost all aluminum anymore. What you...

    What oil should I use?

no!! no stop leak! Stop leak will seal everything it can. It doesn't know what to seal or not. It causes blockages and sludge. That's my view. Only as a last case Hail Mary... like your heads are done or can't afford to do things the right way for something major

    Lowering a 4x4??? I don't get it!!!

It's hard to find steel rims for newer vehicles, that's for sure. They almost all come low pro from the dealer, stock, too. I personally can't stand "lowpro" tires and have had to replace so many of my customers' rims due to them. They dent or chip, so easily, causing tires unable to be...

    What oil should I use?

I'd just hate for him to jump the gun spending $200 + coolant + time, when the issue could be $10

    What oil should I use?

If that's the case it could be the cap or the system boiling over... If the cap doesn't hold at 16psi... what these are rated for, then the boil temp is lower allowing for the system to boil over. The cap is supposed to hold a certain amount of psi so that it raises the boiling temp to let's...

    What oil should I use?

Well that wasn't too hard to find, luckily. That's a negative, to your rad repair question, though.

    350 Tbi running bad

Yeah, I realize no cats, but as a reference point. Where the cat would be... way up in the beginning. Not where the muffler is. ;P

    Cool, just eliminating possibilities.

    It was converted to carb....

It could be just the speedometer cable? hanging you up. They seem to be quite snug behind the cluster sometimes. Feeling around back there may help. +1 on 87 Jimmy's comment

    What oil should I use?

Those are some good points too... @HotRodPC Good call on checking how the fan spins... and I was just about to add my own tidbit about the t-stat. How clean is the coolant? That could also be contributing factor. If you happen to replace the pump, also do the t-stat at the same time...

    What oil should I use?

As far as the clutch is concerned, you can sometimes tell it's going bad by having siide to side play at the shaft that connects to the water pump. Grab a couple of the fan blades and jiggle it side to side. The center should not move at all. Look for play as you would a ball joint to best...

Man this Dash is messed up

Christmas in July almost...lol. Maybe you left a ground unattached? Check the wire ends too. Sometimes the wires are so corroded they break inside the insulation. Look for green tarnish at the wire ends.... this is the corrosion

    Caprice Evap System Concerns

Nice! Good find. I've never seen that piece but I'm sure you can modify it like you said. The emissions junk is highly overrated.

Man this Dash is messed up

Great job on fixing what you did so far. On your setup though, I think the cargo and courtesy lights get their power through the headlight switch? Doesn't the headlight switch when turned instead of pulled, switch the courtesy light on & also works as a dimmer for the dash? lol Been a while...

    Caprice Evap System Concerns

With all the Evap junk in your setup, I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. With the vent hose from the tank removed or unhooked, it should pinpoint where you need to focus on. Either on the tank area or Evap system. Hopefully it's more simple one and it's just a pickup assembly change. ;)

    Caprice Evap System Concerns

Well the fact you have hissing when pulling off the cap leads me to suspect the vent valve in the tank. I would start by disconnecting the vent/evap tube on the pickup assembly. With the tubes bent towards you, it should be the far right tube, maybe 5/16". 1st tube is fuel line to pump at 3/8"...

Man this Dash is messed up

I would start by checking your grounds on the foot well near your fuse box (to the left of it) under the steering column. To me, it sounds like there's corrosion preventing a good connection. Cluster receives its ground from there, also may have issues with wipers? Or radio?

    K10 Window and lock problem

You could just use the shrink wrap crimp connectors and use a wire to extend in between if too short. They're great and because they have a glue along with the shrink wrap, it seals very nicely without having to worry about more water penetration. Here's what I'm talking about After crimping...

    K10 Window and lock problem

No, it doesn't look like same power wire. Pink wire for windows, again spliced that are fused by a breaker near the top of your fuse block... feeds both doors. The door locks are powered by an orange w/black wire, feeds both doors. Hope that helps.

Shaking while braking, needing some help.

I 2nd the Energy Suspension bushings... always get the Black from them, no matter the application of bushing. These last longer than the other colors & also no squeaks down the line. The blacks have graphite incorporated into them which helps prevent squeaks, unlike the others.

    Alternator wiring

Ahh. Gotcha. No the dotted lines mean they are part of another switch or assembly. They only show whats applicable for this circuit, but there are more connections to those dotted lined items. Not necessarily in the cab of the truck. In this case, there's an ignition switch, a fuse block, &...
