New to pickups & fifth wheels

It’s all about the weight.. today’s RVs come in many types, from ultra light all the way up to the huge toy haulers. Keep in mind the advertised weight on RV web sites is as they roll off the assembly line, no battery, propane tanks etc…plus your personal stuff adds up quick also. A huge...

Acquired an 84 K30 parts truck

It’s body sealer along every seam inside the bed. Mine just pulled right away, but this bed wasn’t very rusty at all, I had no stripped hardware. The tough part for me was at the tailgate posts, the bed side is sandwiched there between the rearmost bed bottom support and the bed floor. I used...

Acquired an 84 K30 parts truck

I’ve recently completely reassembled the ‘70s bed I purchased. The bed sides bolt on the front panel and along the wheel wells and bed floor. There are some short welds at the bottom of the tailgate posts to the bed floor. Those sides weigh about 80lbs each and are difficult to maneuver.

New to pickups & fifth wheels

You can basically do anything you want, air bags can make any rig level, I see it all the time when we travel in our RV. Lots of rigs out there are way over loaded, especially when it comes to the pin weight of the RV on the rear of the truck. Being able to do it efficiently without having...

How to tell if my NP203 has been converted to part time?

From what I’ve read if the Mile Marker part time conversion kit has been installed the shift pattern is changed. It will be as shown here.

    (Advice) PCV Valve strange issue.

What kind of valve covers are these? Are they the stock equipment? The other valve cover, the one without the PCV valve, must have an opening for air to enter the engine…. Give us some pics!!

What tire size you running and pic for bonus.

Sorry there isn’t a cab & box on it yet, but these are 295/70-17s. They measure about 33 1/2” tall, this is with an ORD 4” lift kit.

Making sure inverted flare cooler lines seal

The flair does the sealing, don’t distort it by over tightening. Mating a metal line to an aluminum fitting, two different metals, use Anti-Seize.

    Transfer Case Issue?

From your description that’s definitely an NP203, and there is no 2H, it’s all time 4WD, unless it’s been modified. If it has been modified with a “part time” kit the shifter pattern is different than what’s shown on the shifter. When the TC is in the very center position, it should be in...

I hate the power window and door lock switches

I took Industrial Electricity in vocational school during my Junior and Senior yrs of high school, this was the late ‘70s. The two teachers were retired master electricians and they taught us that splice and several others, the classroom had many displays of them. It gave me the foundation for...

    Power Tour

The tour will be here in Louisville today, but I just don’t have the time to get into town to the stadium to see it… in my younger years nothing would have stopped me.

    Red Oxide Primer

Oil based enamel primers & paints, over the years I’ve used it many times depending on what was being painted and the budget for the product. Tractors and implements, race cars, etc.. mostly things that didn’t need to be great quality and would look okay from a distance. I’d suggest thinning...

    Unable to find these relays

Start in the Reference section of this Forum, there’s a 1980 wiring diagram there. It’s extensive, but you’ll need to learn it if you plan on doing your own repairs.

    Fuel tank brackets

I installed new tanks & straps on my frame a few months ago. I had to use ratchet straps around the opposite frame rail to get the straps to conform around the tanks enough to start the nuts. It was tough, but they fit.

Fuel sending unit ports and Driveshaft

Yep, my ‘78 K20 has the slip yoke in the rear also. That’s a good pic of the original heat shield for the fuel lines discussed in another post also.

    Confusion on fuel and more.

Originally those trucks have a shield, but it was designed for 2 1/4” exhaust. This pic from another thread shows it.

    Pure SEX!

I love those cars, beautiful styling. That’s a decent price, but resto parts are outrageous. I owned one in 1983, bought it from my father’s boss. It was orange, saddle interior, 210hp, 4 speed, PS, PB. Not having AC, in the car with the T-tops & back window removed you looked cool, but from...

Replacement capable Tcase for 1975 K10 passenger side drop

I’d like to add that short tail shaft you currently have on your TH400 won’t work with any other TC, it is for the 203 only.

Replacement capable Tcase for 1975 K10 passenger side drop

NP208, but it won’t work with the 203 adapter. A 205, if you can find one and afford it… Do a Search, there’s a lot of info on these case swaps
