    Hello from waco

    Damn, that thing looks nice.

    fresh air intake

Not just for 454' s. I had that on my 350. I just assumed its a flash arrestor. Similar to what is Coast Guard mandatory on boats but this thing is far more restrictive. After I removed it I had a noticeable performance improvement. There was a shorter and taller air cleaner available. I don't...

    Fuel Pump Recommendations

If your float bowl empties out overnight I'm thinking a Welch plug in the fuel bowl is leaking. Which is a pretty common problem on Qjets. That just shouldn't happen. Maybe a carb rebuild is in order to make sure the plugs aren't leaking and fix them if they are. Of course I'm assuming you guys...

Rear sway bar recommendation for 82 C10

    Belltech makes one too.

    Fuel line

No. There's a small restriction in the return line on the filter that allows fuel to be returned to the tank. It doesn't go into the carb and back out again.

    Fuel Pump Recommendations

I don't think I see where there's problem. It shouldn't matter if the pump line drains back or not. The fuel in the carb bowl is used to start it, not the fuel in the line. The pump will prime that line long before the float bowl ever empties out. Now, in all fairness, if the engine sits long...

    Fuel line

I believe its the other way. Fuel comes into the filter and is routed back out again on the return. There's a seperate port that comes out of that and to the carb so only a few inches of fuel line is all that's dead-ended at the carb.

    Fuel line

Respectfully have to disagree....sort of. Yes, it keeps fuel circulating. No, as in putting it close to the carb is not defeating the purpose. Several people here still experience vapor lock with a three port mechanical pump that has a return to the tank from the pump. That still causes...

    What is this?????

Agreed. To my knowledge this truck spent its whole life in NC. Other then some NC clay splashed-on remnants, the entire frame and undercarriage is extremely clean. By the way, the entire stencil string is FX 5718-953. The pic doesn't show the whole thing.

    What is this?????

Definitely not CUCV. Certainly agree that it looks like military stencil.

    What is this?????

Crawling under my truck and I see this stenciled on the inside of the drivers side frame rail. Any ideas what it is or what it signifies? Apologies for the pic. Not very good but I could only zoom out so far while still laying underneath it. The pic doesn't show the entire stenciling.

    Holley Dissection Inspection...

Accelerator pump adjustment would be my first look. The pump arm is attached to the throttle shaft. The slightest movement of the throttle should shoot some gas through the pump nozzles in the throat of the carb. The arm of the pump should not have any slack in it. It needs to be just snug...

    Vapor Lock issue?

The 3 port helps between the pump and the tank but it still doesn't solve the heat issue between the pump and the carb. It still dead ends at the carb. I wonder if you could disconnect and cap the return outlet on the pump. Then install a tee connection at the carb inlet so you can run the...

    Holley Dissection Inspection...

Sorry for the delay answering this. Agree with others here. That carb is in dire need of a cleaning and rebuild. You'll need a clutch head screwdriver to get that metering block off to clean and put new gaskets on. You can get a cheap set from about any parts store or a bigger screwdriver bit...

    Distributor timing issues

So I played around with this thing a little bit more. I changed out the vacuum can to the new VC1853 and figured I would have a limited amount of time to try setting the timing. I had my vacuum gauge and timing light already setup and ready to go before starting it. I started it cold and was...

    AC system help

Agree with everyone else here. I had a 81 Olds Cutlass diesel that I know ran the AC compressor when in defrost. The manual stated it. Another thing that nobody has mentioned yet is that the vent windows are wonderful for helping to defrost the windscreen, even without AC. Other than...

    Distributor timing issues

Got one that I've personally never seen before so I thought I would run it past the Brainiacs here. My 86 Sub is pretty much a stock 350 except for headers and true duals. It runs really well after I did a fresh carb rebuild with a Cliff Ruggles kit and a complete tune up. My problem is that I...

What have you done to your square lately??

True Dat...... Just refurbing my cluster now. Getting to that Speedo cable was the biggest single problem I had. Everything else wasn't an issue.

    Fuel line

+1 on the return line. You said you have a gauge plumbed in. What pressure is the pump putting out?

    Clock set knob

Holy shit. BRILLIANT!!!! I tried searching on a few of the usual websites like LMC or Brothers and got nothing. Never even considered a Goggle search. Now I feel like such a dumb ass. Thanks for confirming they're the same as yours. Got options anyway.

    Clock set knob

I have a clock in my square that actually works and keeps very accurate time. That in itself makes it kind of a unicorn doesn't it? My dilemma is that its missing the screw-on set knob. I'm guessing that I would have a better chance of winning the lottery than finding one of these knobs. No luck...
