    Oh, it is a relatively new thing. We only had a couple of stations until wawa and thortons moved in. E85 was the same way, and you have to gravity test every time you buy it. Full if water and slimey looking yellow stuff. Heat and moisture are alcohol's enemies.

    You guys totally ran off the rails! ACDelco pro series Walbro Delphi Spectra is low, low quality. Senders and pumps just don't stand the test of time. Failure rates are so high we stopped installing them. Customers would say, "I can buy the pump for $20 at Advance, why is yours so expensive?"...

    I put whatever from whereever in the V1500 and now it needs another fuel pump. In our 99 k1500 we ran texaco/BP because of the mpg drop with Murphy and ease of fueling and location. I tried several brands and additives, mostly for fun, and the V1500 Suburban did best with the WaWa ethanol free...

    Here in the Sweat Belt the sticky wheel thing is very common. I had good luck with Royal Purple cleaner, brake cleaner, and rubbing alcohol. I used the mint witch hazel once but the towel fuzzies stuck like tribbles on the Enterprise. ...and the sticky mess always returns, no matter what. And...

    I don't have the part number fro the camshaft with me but I barely recall something about that application having no egr. Take it with a grain of salt, I survived the 80s! I will look when I have time.

    I have an LT1 roller cam that I was going to do a roller conversion on my Suburban with someday. The thing has 117 degrees of sep because this model did not come with egr. Maybe somewhere in there lies your answer; no mechanical egr but add it to your cam specs.

    Eagle or Prime. Probably Super Shops mid 90s. One of the two didn't have a ridge on the face for wheel weights. A.R.E. is possible too. When you dismount a tire, you may find the part # written with a grease pencil or paint marker.

    Or you could do the old body shop trick and put a 2x4 between the door and body, and then push the top of the door/window frame in some. That bends the door, causing a tighter seal. Just be careful

    Tuning issues

    If it still has the stock carb, or a non electronic Quadrajet replacement, it should have the a/c idle solenoid on the driver's side. Check for operation, and it can be adjusted by turning the rod/nut that touches the linkage.

    The plastic nose doesn't age well on any of the gm products. The droopy dog look makes it worse. For the same odd reason that I love Superbirds, I like these cars and the Monte aerocoupes. I have seen them for sale anywhere from $2k beater/parts cars to $25k showroom new. There was one on ebay...
