Anyone have experience/thoughts on tapping into the backup light wire in the factory rear harness? Boat trailer has a electric valve for the brakes that needs the backup wire signal and the trailer is currently only wired for a flat 4. Don’t need backup lights on the trailer. Thanks.
I have planned a Gear Vendors OD installation on my 1980/81 K30 454/TH400/NP205/3.73’s Crew since I began the project. I sense the geometry change for the forward section of the rear driveline will change to an intolerable degree. I have also read here that at least one poster eliminated the...
The clip looks like the ones that screw to the top of the firewall that hold the slotted valance between the rear of the hood and the bottom of the windshield.
Ahh, your clearance lights. Those are usually daisy chained for power and ground to each with the wires travelling up the pillar from the ground “bar” above and left of your left knee and from the headlight switch for power.
I will second the thought. The trials of going through what you are currently faced with is a pretty big job and the nickels and dimes add up pretty fast.
Well, I have to admit I don’t care for any of the Corvettes after 1968, but would love to have a 1959-62 body on a 1990 or later chassis for the much improved driving experience.
Looks a lot cleaner than some of the stuff I have encountered and as long as you don’t exceed the load I imagine it will work fine. If the butt connectors are not heat shrink with sealer I would replace them with such.
I would go with whichever kit had the least amount of connector work, i.e., soldering, crimping, etc. My experience with American Autowire was good, but tons of work.
