Fuel tank question #3 this week!
I know the 70's trucks (at least the Suburban) had a smaller fill hose. I bought a tank for an '87 and it has a 1-3/4" fill hose and my '78 tank has 1-3/8".- TubeTruck

Are cheap welding helmets any good? (recommendations?)
It depends on what I am doing. I have both a passive and auto helmet. If I'm welding in an area where I have to do a crunch to keep my head tucked in somewhere I'll use the auto. Welding in an area where I have room I'll use the passive. They both have their uses. Like others said, just make... -

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew about some of the basics like the L21 having forged internals but was lost when it came to reluctors and what they were for. I'm thinking it's like a magnetic pickup that fires off the coils so that helps me. I think I'm going to rebuild this as stock for now...- TubeTruck

I'm learning here. What reluctor wheel does the L29 have? I've heard of 24x and 58x and see you guys taking about putting a 24x on the L29 for the CNP. Does the L21 use CNP? Is that why you need an L21 reluctor? Or am I getting confused here? Lol- TubeTruck

Mismatching front and rear tire sizes with 4x4
The width doesn't matter, just the height. Driving on dirt will relieve that a little as long as you have some slip in traction.- TubeTruck

:popcorn: Have you made any progress on this? Or is it in another thread? I wanted to drop my 4L80e in over the winter but the cost of converting the 350 to use a reluctor and TPS (plus cam and rebuild kit) I may as well rebuild the EFI 454. So that's my new plan. A figure 8 pattern will have a bolt pattern that looks like this: A 6 bolt round will have one that looks like this: As @bucket said, most K20's came with a TH400. Verify your transmission and transfer case before you do anything. If you in fact do have a TH350/NP203 the swap will be easy...- TubeTruck

Tightening the first nut to 50lbs seats the bearing in the race, then back it off 3/8 of a turn, figure a pizza is 8 slices, back it off no more than 3 slices. I back it off 90 degrees to be safe. Rollbar padding only sold in offset? Huh? Any engineers, builders or metal fab people to chime in?
More material towards the driver gives more protection. I wrap the center and ends in electrical tape to squeeze it onto the bar.- TubeTruck

TH350? Check your vacuum line to the transmission. It should go from the intake, just behind the carb, down to the transmission on the passenger side. I know my rubber hose dries out and cracks every few months and it does the same thing. If it's a 700r4 those are a TV cable and it might need...- TubeTruck

What fluid stains do your daily drivers leave?
I leave an outline of an engine wherever I park. Plus a puddle of power steering fluid below the brake booster. I use about a quart every 2 weeks and fill the ps pump every week. It's starting to whine now. As soon as I can sell some of the stuff I got recently it's getting a gasket kit and cam kit.- TubeTruck

Np203 to Np205 , transfer case swap
I remember when they were $100 also, lol. About 2 years ago I paid $250 for a figure 8 NP205 with a slip yoke. I'm browsing for a circle 205 and when I find someone who doesn't know what they got I'm going to scoff it up lol- TubeTruck

What is this bracket?
It was lumped in with my SM465 but I don't think it's part of the Z bar linkage (maybe it is?). I thought it might be an alternator bracket but not sure. I'm sure someone knows...- TubeTruck
