Detroit steel wheel delreys on 37s

Yep- those were it! At work we have large round tubs of teflon and those remind me of the teflon press there. Are those the same wheels in the top pic with the baby moon hubcaps? Hard for me to tell on my monitor... looks like they are. If so I do like those. Amazing the difference. You...

Detroit steel wheel delreys on 37s

I like it with those wheels and color. I think I saw someone has the 20" version and painted something odd- like white. Didn't look right in my opinion. Funny to see a 37 next to a stock tire. Been so long since I've run stock size it is shocking to see them side by side.

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

Ok, saved some of the pics and reposted. I'll add a few more here. There was a big snowdrift that ran right down the middle of the road. Probably 7' deep- and the best way around it was just to take the ditch. I'm glad I got the right offset to push my tires out so I didn't scrape body panels...

    Shocks?

Just go with the best price. I'd recommend some KYB shocks as they should be in the same ballpark.

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

Went back up the same road- but without the almost stock vehicles. Made it up and over the mountains. Tough ride. Some parts still had sugar snow on the north facing slopes. Then the sun came out and it warmed up. Had some nice wet snow and a few downed trees. Right off the bat the snowbank...

    Atlas Leaf Springs

I don't know anything about Atlas springs... but when I wanted new 56" stock height rear leaf springs I did a bunch of research. Found a lot that recommended Dayton spring. They are apparently the same as TRW which is also supposed to be good. And I found the rear springs on Rock Auto- which...

    Protecting catalytic converters?

I have read two articles here in Montana in the last month about this. Mainly Billings and Missoula are having this problem. Some people were even hit twice. F'in thieves waited for them to take their vehicle in and get fixed just to hit it again. :banghead: The articles had some suggestions...

EZ Ride springs: Regular or HD

Sorry for a slight thread jack here- what about on stock rear springs? I've heard that some flip the overload leaf on the bottom upside down but have you ever cut that stock leaf down?

New Leaf Springs...How did I goof it up?

The axle is in the same place. The center pin of the 56" spring pack isn't in the center. It is offset. (26"/30") You just have to make sure that the short part goes forward. The 52" springs have the center pin in the center (26"/26")

So Does Everyone HATE This Steering Wheel?

I took out my stock wheel to get a smaller one because I: -don't have a tilt wheel -have a lifted truck without any sort of steps. Easier to hop in and out of -don't ram my legs as easily against the steering wheel when hitting unexpected bumps off roading -have more room to roll the driver's...

Wire coming out of rear shocks

I believe he was talking about a shackle flip- where instead of a tension style shackle it is a compression shackle. Here was a pic when I was installing the 2.5" shackle flip lift. The stock shackle and rubber bushing does not allow free movement of the shackle- so you get a rougher ride...

Wire coming out of rear shocks

ORD is now making beefed up stock style tension hangers. They allow the shackle to move a lot for a nicer ride.

Wire coming out of rear shocks

I don't think air shocks were ever stock. I had a '78 K15 that had air shocks when I bought it from the previous owner. The airlines went back to the rear bumper where they drilled in a schrader valve. If yours is going up to the cab some shock companies made an in cab controller to change the...

Wire coming out of rear shocks

A picture might help. You sure it is a wire and not an air line?

Snow wheeling. Now I want to re-configure...

Can't find or buy a new chain for a NP203. They seem to be backordered months and then want several hundred for a new chain. So gave up on that. Found a full time NP203 in a junk yard and had the shop put that in. Twin stick is kinda nice- easy to shift. But the right shifter linkage (I'm...

    Warn hydraulic winch?

I'm probably a year out from buying a winch. Need a winch bumper first- but good to hear different input from people. :waytogo:

    Driveline Opinions

With the full time 203 you won't get stuck then have to climb out in the snow/muck to lock in the hubs (hey- it happens). And since the truck is full time 4 you won't have any issues of the rear end suddenly trying to slide out on you in 2 wheel drive. A limited slip can cause you to lose side...

    87 2500 4x4 truck build

You have a good rear end ratio for pulling. Depends on the weight of the 5th wheel. Not advisable towing at 70 mph. Better to slow down as trailer tires usually aren't happy at speed (speed equals heat, then blowout). It *could* probably tow at 70 mph but then your fuel economy will greatly...

    Warn hydraulic winch?

I have done some more reading about hydraulic winches- it is hard to find a PTO hydraulic pump. Some of the pumps work only one way (they are not reversible). This is important as when you would go to use it you put the transfer case in neutral and then you put the transmission in gear (reverse...

    lift advice 4" (1 Ton)

Shackle flip provides lift, better ride, and still retains the stock spring load capability. https://www.offroaddesign.com/ Check out their website- can learn a lot from that website. And you can call them and ask them questions- even if you aren't buying at that right second. I called last...
