Hi, I don’t know a ton about shocks, but I pulled all 4 still good old Gabriel Gas Shocks off my 1981 Silverado. I likes them a lot but I don’t think Gabriel makes gas type shocks anymore. So I was considering Monroe as replacements but I don’t want the ride quality different from the Gabriel’s. Any advice? Thanks!

I've got Monroe's on my 1977 K10 and I like them a lot, but if you want Gabriel's then Rock Auto sells them.

I recently put Monroe gas Magnums on my 77 K10 I think they're a great shock also. Also changed out the steering damper to a Monroe.

Just go with the best price. I'd recommend some KYB shocks as they should be in the same ballpark.

Check the travel first... I just got KYB replacement shocks and apparently the reason the last ones blew out is due to less than 1 inch of compression left at current ride height in the rear and about 1 1/2" up front... No lowering shackles, hangers or spindles but maybe at some point springs were removed in the rear and cut up front... No evidence of heating to lower either so I ordered stock ride shocks... Save yourself some money and time, check the travel and order accordingly...
