    Cab lights with no headliner?

Another trick is to use a shop-vac to suck the loose wires out of an opening, used to do this when I was building bikes and wanted to run the switch wires inside the bars .

Adjusting rear drums - pulling trailers

Hi Aurora,,,,,The big thing that you are missing here is brakes on your trailer,,,,,trust me I have done tons of towing( u catch that pun?), the trailer should never be pushing the tow rig, the rear brakes on your truck are not the problem. This is simple physics, the hitch is a pivot point, so...

Legs TOO short. Need side steps

Colin, could you maybe post a couple of pic's of the mounting points showing how you attached to the body and the frame???????BTW I really like the way they look, appear to be very functional yet not gaudy like the oldschool aluminum running boards.

    Converting 89 r1500 into a 1 ton 2wd

You forgot to also mention GOOD TRAILER BRAKES, preferably on both axles and a good controller in the truck something like a Tekonsha P3. When braking you should always be dragging the trailer vs being pushed by it. Also, drive smart, smooth planned moves, lots of following distance, maybe 3or4...

    Turbo 350 Information and Facts

Same here, all the wiring and vacuum switch is there but no place on the trans for the wires. I am hoping to put in a 700r4 down the road. Currently trying to find out who makes the strongest 700r4, right now it looks like Bowtie Overdrives is the company that will get my $ unless I find out...

    Cab Steps

Well those are way-cool, I don't think I have ever seen any like yours before. What I like is that they are a kinda open surface deck and dirt, mud and water can drain through and not sit on the top, plus they just look what I call "bad-ass-functional". How long did it take you to build them?

Headlights only on while engine running

HI Gang, Hello again, just a quick update. So I wired the trigger terminal of a 30amp relay to the choke wire, thinking that would do the trick and only energize the relay while the engine was running. Well, it seems that the choke circuit on my truck is hot whenever the Ign. is on. I always...

Headlights only on while engine running

Hi fellow Square Body people, I was wondering if any of you have wired your trucks so that the headlights will only light while the engine is running (and the battery is therefore charging)? Was thinking this might be a good way to never forget to turn the lights off if for whatever reason they...

    85 C10 Chevy leaf springs

Hi Randy,,,Even though I am one of the new guys here, I will try to answer since your post is kinda old and no one else has chimed in. Check the RPO sticker in the glove box, it will show which spring pack it came from the assembly-line with, this was determined by which GVWR package was...

Bypassed esc now truck runs awful.

Try richening up the idle mix a bit, the ESC system uses a very lean idle mixture to cause the emissions to run a bit cleaner. Does your carb have the electronic solenoids that richen the idle mix? If so then it is definitely too lean cause the solenoids use the ESC of the distributor to tell...

Rough ride even with 3+1 leaf springs

You could give SULASTIC shackles a try, they are supposed to really supple up a short leaf spring set up by preloading the shackle angle and taking some of the static load off the leaves. Have not tried them myself yet but have heard some good things. There are some vids on youtube, sorry I do...

    Advice on rebuilding control arms

The bushings can be sourced from just about any auto parts store (NAPA, Autozone,O'Rielly's, etc...) or online as already posted. The shafts rarely go bad, same for the control arms, all the wear is in the bushings. In fact the only time I have seen a FUBAR'd control arm is from extreme impact...

WHOA there 86'Burb,,,,you only posted yesterday, jeez, give folks a chance to find your post, sometimes it takes a bit for those who know to respond, no doubt there were probably quite a few who viewed but were not positive on the answer and did not want to give you bad advice. Anyway, I most...
