Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I may have found it, not sure. It was not hooked to anything and the end is cut off so I can't tell what came on there. It is a green wire and appears to be coming out of the harness. The wire with the clip that you mention above is the one I have been wasting time on.

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

Well this may explain why nothing that I have attempted has made my gauge work. It also means that neither of the trucks have the throttle solenoid hooked up. My wife will find this highly entertaining as I have spent quite some time screwing with this wire.

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I have to pull the damn header off to get to it. Will it work properly in the thermostat housing neck. The one I have on there has an opening for that. Also, I do not believe I have been messing with the proper wire. I was assuming it was the wire coming out of the connection in this pic. One...

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

It is on the 1982. Eventually I will need all this on the 78, but I am getting this 82 ready so I can give it to my daughter. I went to the thread you referenced and looked at the links. I will be ordering one of their sending units. Since I have both years of trucks I may just go ahead and...

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I don't remember why, but for some reason I thought the gauge cluster that I bought to replace the stock one came out of a 1985.

I have a building separate from the shop/barn I consider my man cave. It's a mess.

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I did this test a few minutes ago. The brake light and choke light come on but the temp gauge moves to the left and is closer to pegging low than high. I have too much work to do today, so I can't mess with the truck much. I will try to get on it tomorrow but maybe not until Saturday...

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I spoke too soon. It didn't fix it, but changed the way it acted. Now when it's running the gauge stays around 120. When the key is turned on but truck is not running, the gauge is around the 12 o'clock position. Something Rich Weyand said in another thread makes me wonder if I have the...

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

Just went out and checked. There's one on the passenger side firewall right behind the head. I just reached out and grabbed it and it's broken completely off. Thank you very much, that fixed it. I didn't even hook up a proper ground, just took some alligator clips, put one end on the broken...

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I believe chengny has it correct when he said it was my 4WD indicator lamp, which reminded me I forgot to plug that back in before setting the cluster back into place. I put a new temp sending unit in but still nothing. My black rectangle connector is partially melted in a spot and looks a...

    Correct Replacement Radiator

I have another truck, a 1983 GMC K2500. The VIN says it came with a 350, someone put a 454 in it and did a nice job. Looks factory. Your post makes me wonder if they changed all the parts for the radiator or if they just used the small block radiator. I am guessing they used the small block...

    Correct Replacement Radiator

I probably should have gone to NAPA in the beginning. It's our only auto parts store in town. I was impatient though. They usually have to order things for me.

    Correct Replacement Radiator

Here is the best I could manage with mine. Drivers side I was able to get one bolt in the mount. I could not get the left mount in at all because it would hit the radiator cap. The measurements for the cooling area are the same as the one I took off and all the hook ups for the lines are the...

    Correct Replacement Radiator

I am guessing you might be a better modifier than I am. I will post a pic once I get home today so you can have a laugh. It's ugly, and the way I have it in there kind of tweaks the shroud. Everything works and it does not hit the fan but I don't like it. Just talked to a radiator shop in OKC...

    Correct Replacement Radiator

Does anyone know the correct Direct Fit radiator for a 1982 K10, 350, Auto, w/ac. This seems like it should be simple enough. A few months ago I bought an expensive aluminum Champion (I think) radiator and dual electric fan kit from Brothers. It said the radiator was a direct fit. It does have...

Thanks, I will have to get me a new temp sending unit and see if that does it.

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

Looks like the connection on my sending unit is broken off. Also, does this look like the wire that would go to the sending unit.

Another Gauge Cluster Question or 3

I am trying to get a truck ready for my daughter who turns 16 in July. I offered to buy her several different vehicles (a lot of the $$ is hers that she earned) but she insists she wants my daily driver truck. There are several things wrong with it that didn't bother me so much with me driving...

Cruise control arm but no wiper controls

Sorry this took so long. This is on a 1982 K10 Pickup. The tilt lever is hidden behind the cruise/blinker lever in the pic but it's there.
