    Fuel or ignition issue

if you have a vacuum gauge, you could have diagnosed a clogged exhaust in about 15 seconds. You would have hooked it to manifold vacuum and revved and held the engine at 2000ish RPM. The vacuum gauge would have went to ZERO and that would have told you a clogged exhaust.... instead of throwing...

    Edelbrock questions

600 cfm should be fine. I had a 600cfm on a 302 Ford so. Hard starting usually points to the ignition and not fuel. What is your timing set at? Do not go by what your hood sticker says since you've built it up a little. 10-14 degrees BTDC would be good for you. Also, what is your fuel...

700r4 Intermittent Lockup or None at all...

After reading over my posts, I noticed and remembered that I did not test the LT BLUE and BROWN wires. Gave them a test and both were hot with pedal pressed and at rest. So the switch must not be doing its job. BTW, they plugs don't interchange. I took off the switch and you can open it up. The...

700r4 Intermittent Lockup or None at all...

After studying the wiring diagrams all day (at work ) I am wondering if things are plugged in wrong. this pic shows the LT BLU and BROWN wiring on the same switch with the brakes. This pic is in a thread on this forum. That clear plug is on the other switch with the red plunger in my...

700r4 Intermittent Lockup or None at all...

I got up under the truck dash again. I have this switch It has an ORANGE wire that is hot all times. It has a WHITE wire that is hot when the brake is pressed. This plug is closest to the plunger. (I thought the brake plug was suppose to be furthest away from plunger?) I also have a plug...

700r4 Intermittent Lockup or None at all...

Please read entire post..sorry it is sort of long. About 8 months ago, I tried to take off my factory cruise control. I lost converter lockup even though I am not sure if I knew it was doing it before that. I put it back in, but the shift points changed. They went from 15,25,35 and engaged...

Back-up lights staying on in drive

You didn't say if this was during the day or night. Check the NSS like mentioned above. Check your TURN/BU fuse or even the directional flasher on the bottom right of the fuse panel. I ask about if day or night. Are they on during the daytime when you do not have your lights on. If they...

how does dash pad bolt/hold in place

it doesn't "bolt" in. you must slide the "glass side" of the pad and it will go into these slots. then you press down on the side closest to you then screw it in along the bottom.

    Fuel gauge (dual tanks)

I would go ahead and replace it because they really are pretty cheap. that way you won't be stranded in case it fails while you're driving it

    Fuel gauge (dual tanks)

nope... I replaced the entire passenger side. Fuel lines, tank, sending unit, selector valve, selector switch and I completely cleaned out all the gunk in the filler/vent hoses, oh and don't forget new gas cap! lol I had to... here's why

    Fuel gauge (dual tanks)

since I went through this about 6 months ago, your selector valve is failing. Mine was an electrical fail. It was switching mechanically, but would give false readings. It would say my driver tank was always 3/4 full and passenger was always 1/4 full. Pretty easy to change out minus the stupid...

    Rear Shock Suggestions *STOCK*

I just redid my shocks all around this past Sunday. I went with Gabriel Guardian on all 4 corners. I don't have a lift and this is my "go to the dump/pollute the atmosphere by driving around" truck. It had Monroe LT Gas-matics on the front and some really old Tough Country shocks on the back...

    Turn signal and brake lights.

read that thread with caution..make your head spin! I wouldn't have fixed mine if chengny hadn't helped me through it. but now I am like, pssh electrical work, no prob (:boxed:) and now I want to fix all the other jerry rigged wiring in the engine bay and my broken, held on with zip tie...

    Non power locks/windows to power?

this is funny, some people want to go to all power and I want to get rid of my power and get everything to make them crank windows.

    Turn signal and brake lights.

Let me see if I read what you are saying correctly... The brake lights do not light up when you press the pedal, but the indicator arrows on the dash light up?? Those are completely different circuits and I don't see how that is happening except there is a short somewhere under the dash...

    Clock stopped working

dang that is really involved... I just wind mine back to current time after I have had the batt disconnected...always seems to keep good time without having to do all that other crap.

I bet you blew a fuse or pulled off the ground wire on the buss ground located on the parking brake.

    Temp Sending Unit Question

they have temp sending units that you can use to correct the problem. You just need to select the correct size along with the ohms that your gauge reads. I go the correct one for my truck which has a 70 350 swapped in.

    Fuel gauge (dual tanks)

the ground for the RH tank is visible by just standing next to the truck. If you look down between the cab and bed, you can see it on the frame. If that doesn't work, it may have come off the small post that it connects to.
