    Belltech SP drop shocks.

Installed the street performance shocks today and took it for a spin. So far I’m really liking these shocks. These shocks are far more responsive and have faster rebound than the shocks I had on it.

    Belltech SP drop shocks.

I’m glad you chimmed in, not shock related. But what is the biggest tire I can put up front? I’m going 20X8 with 4.5 backspace. I was thinking 245/45/18. I’m not too concerned about the back since there’s ample room.

    Belltech SP drop shocks.

Ordered belltech street performance drop shops on all 4 corners. I will be sure to post a review of what I think of them. From what I’ve read they are really good shocks.

    Drop finished up, 4.5/6ish

Only issue I had was the brake line had to be bent to fit the drop spindle. It was interfering with the upper ball joint. .

73 how to center axle? and pinion help!

I’m not going to begin offering suggestions, . But if you think about it, it’s only 1/8” off, which really isn’t that bad to be honest. As far as the pinion angle, I did a flip kit on mine and did t have to shim the pinion. It was roughly a 6” drop.

    Unable to bleed rear brakes

I did what some of you suggested. I opened up both front bleeders and mashed the shit out of the pedal a bunch. I’m guessing the shuttle centered up because I got pressure out back. Finished bleeding everything and now it’s good to go. I had no idea about the proportioning valve, damn these...

How to spend $1500 on engine upgrades

Rebuild the top end...roller cam set up, heads and intake. This should run around $1500 doing all the work yourself.

    Unable to bleed rear brakes

The connection for the warning lamp is gone. I removed the rubber boot on the proportioning valve and the stem is definitely sticking out. Do you think I could just C clamp the end to prevent it from moving in and out till I get the shuttle centered?

    Unable to bleed rear brakes

I recently changed out the hard lines on my rear axle and the soft flexible hose. I tried bleeding the brakes and no fluid comes out either side from the bleeder valve. My wife was hitting the pedal and it barely squirts out of the valve and pedal didn’t even budge. I even tried pulling both...

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

You may be on to something....would it hurt to start with a heavy grit and try to work that gouge out. Then finish up with 2K grit to smooth everything?

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

Couldn’t be from driving the bearing on at an angle instead of straight on? Anyways I picked up some new bearing. Do I just coat it in some gear oil and send it?

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

Here you go, the top of the bearing is concerning. But that’s could have been done driving it on.

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

Ohh haha, that makes more sense. There is definitely play from front to back on the rollers.

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

Bearings are tight on both sides. And no the truck is not being supported by landscaping blocks.

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

I checked for slop, I couldn’t find any. I will take a picture later when I get home. It looks to be factory bearings and seals. If I was to get new shafts, 30 spline would be the way to go?

Let it ride or new axle shafts?

Yea they are pressed in. Just want to make sure everything is good to go. Don’t want to take this rear end apart again so I’m replacing everything.
