    transmission fourth gear shift to early

    normally(depending on your rearend ratio) the 700r4 shifts into 2nd at 15mph, 3rd at 25 mph, 4th at 35mph and locks the converter at 45mph. Some 700r4's lock the converter when it immediately goes into 4th (35mph). Some lock in 3rd also. that is just a generalization... but it's exactly how...

    Dual fuel gas/pane

    Dual tanks are pretty easy, I have them. But I'm not sure how you would use the switching valve between gas and propane. Isn't propane under a higher pressure, because the switching valve is rated for 65lb of pressure I believe. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

    vacuum is created by the pistons going down. vacuum is usually readily available from the throttle plate of a carb/throttle body. It can be pulled through the intake by the "couple" of ports on it but not usually.

    If you can bury the idle screws and it idles, you have a vacuum leak somewhere. The mountains just revealed the problem.

    Fuel Pump Install

    unbolt and lower the tank by taking off the 4 bolts that hold the strap to the frame. Don't take off the one bolt that holds the strap around the gas tank. Much easier this way. Go buy a cheapo hand siphon pump and get that gasoline out of there first.

    you can keep the radio, you just need to get it tapped into a different source than it currently is.

    then your culprit is the radio. I bet the PO tied into the instrument cluster for power and lighting.

    My first car is a 1966 Mercury Comet. In HS, it was white. Then I had it painted blue. I put a 302 w/ C4 automatic in place of the 6 cylinder. I ran the dog doodoo out of it! After HS, it sat at my parents while I was away at college. After college it needed a full restoration.. so here it is...
