Nah, get rid of the vibration and find some washboarded gravel roads when the need arises:anitoof:

    Vibration

X2. My first guess would be rear tire out of balance. Check wheel weights but also look for mud in rim, rocks in tread. If its the truck in the pic, i doubt it sees much off road:) but you coulda picked up a rock or a nail in the tread, on the street. Also check for missing weights on the...

    Engine swap!

Im not sure on the wiring, but ive been looking for a running 258 for my wife's cj. I might be interested in yours after the swap, if youd ship to missouri and the price wasnt too bad. Did you know that the 4.0 head is all but a direct swap on the 258 block. I want to build her a 258 with 4.0...

    Clocking steering wheel

That pinch bolt/splined connection at the rag jont has a big flat spot that has to line up, so it is "sorta" keyed. Maybe when you drive it, it will be good. Might just look like you have the wheels perfectly straight. Usually takes me trial and error to get just right(shadetree mechanic).

    Box not centerd before reinstall?

    Clocking steering wheel

Sure the box hasnt got something pinched between it and the frame? Dunno if it would be enough to cause that much difference tho. Rag joint is keyed(sorta), pitman arm is keyed(sorta)not sure what might cause that.

    Clocking steering wheel

    Hmmm. Same steering box/pitman arm/ect.?

    Clocking steering wheel

As far as ideal angles, others probably know better, but if this condition existed since build up i would just adjust it out at the drag link:33:

    Clocking steering wheel

This is a condition that just came on all of a sudden? I was under the impression it was existing since the build up. If it was sudden then i would check all of the steering/suspention components up front. Drag link ends, tie rod ends, ball joints. If it happened all of a sudden, or over a short...

    Whose Truck Has This Color?

Id say thats variable ratio power steering box. Steering gets tighter as you get towards the locks. Didnt know they put them in the trucks. Heard about them in montes n such. Truck is probly easy to park, huh?

    Clocking steering wheel

Straighten the wheels, loosen the bolts on the drag link sleeve(pitman arm to steering arm) and turn the sleeve until the wheel is straight. Lock the bolts down. Hope this helps:happy107:
