No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Ok, got a happy ending. I tested for continuity from the firewall side of the connector (at the steering column) to the bulkhead in the engine side of the firewall, and there was continuity (thank god). Then, with that connector disconnected, I switched to IGN on and was going to jump #19 Dk...

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Yes thanks, @77Dmax , I have a tilt column. I see the switch on Rock Auto and it clearly illustrates the switch together with the harness, right down to and including the connector I was asking about. The wires are colored correctly as the GM original. I'm going to disconnect the connector at...

    Ok, @Jgonick thanks very much.

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

No, I think the connector in "bulkhead_cab_side.jpg" is the inside portion of the bulkhead. I just included that to help my narrative. I'm not asking about that at all. I'm asking about the connector in "termination_of_18_yellow.JPG".

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Thank you all. @Jgonick, "turn-signal-switch-plugged-in.jpg" is very helpful. Are you showing the connector that I'm asking about or the signal switch? Or are you saying they are the same thing? I think @Ricko1966 refers to the connector in your picture as a long skinny electrical junction, so I...

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Hi, thanks in advance for help. Sorry to post this but I couldn't find my particular problem. Everything works for both front and rear signal lights, all markers, signal indicator light on dash, hazards, and rear brake lights and backup lights, except for the rear signal light and brake light...

    1978 Scottsdale Drag Link Question

Well, I've completed the wheel alignment and driven my truck @ 60 MPH and more. Steering seems real good. So I conclude that the drag link angle is just fine, which in my mind lays to rest the urban myth that the drag link must be horizontal.

    Wrong brake calipers?

I just went through the same thing. I got it resolved. Yes, there is a Right and Left fitment, and yes, you can tell because the bleeder must point up. Also note the calipers fit either 2WD or 4WD, not both. My truck is 1980 K15, so I got calipers for 1980 4WD. This is the same style as @AZ...

Changing front rubber brake lines. Where’s the inner clip?

Detail of the clip on the outside of the frame. The replacement hose should have that clip installed, and you don't do anything with it.

Changing front rubber brake lines. Where’s the inner clip?

I found this post because I had the same question: where are the clips on both sides of the frame? I needed to know how to disassemble the old brake line (from the caliper to the frame rail) without damage. I don't think that has been answered in this thread. There is a clip on the brake hose...

    1978 Scottsdale Drag Link Question

I just installed a 2" ORD lift and used their drag link (Factory Push/Pull Steering with Jam Nuts, SKU U9015-S4.75), the Moog drag link ends ES2026R and ES2027L, and their 2" Drop Pitman Arm (SKU CA50-I). I thought I'd add some pictures to show how the assembly went together, and the angle of...

Dash cluster light - Electrical Circuit Number 8 question

Wow @AuroraGirl , that's very helpful! I had no idea the codes on the SPID label are the ones found on the GM 1980 GMC Service Manual (attached "fuse_block_diagram.JPG"). Thanks! And thanks for the @chengny post, it helps. I still need to know which orange wire that is that goes to the terminal...

Dash cluster light - Electrical Circuit Number 8 question

Hi @AuroraGirl , thanks a lot for posting that. I attached a pic of my fuse box ("fuse_block_picture.JPG"). It has a few wires removed for clarity. I left one orange wire which is for the courtesy light. There was never anything plugged into my LPS terminal. As you say you have a 1212 orange...

FREE Driver Side Gas Tank Sending Unit

All I know is what it says in the LMC manual. They are parts 32-4036 (73-79) and 32-4044 (80-89). They are both drivers side and both 3 outlet. The diameter opening is the same as I can see. Please see attached picture of 32-4044 (and compare to above picture of 32-4036). I'd say the position...

    Reverse light power...

Yep, I'm talking about the green and blue pair of wires in your first picture. You illustrate where they enter the cab and go up and then to the right. In my case, they continue to the base of the steering column (inside the cab) and then disappear in the harness there (that moves away from the...

    1977 C30 Fuel Gauge wiring

I'm posting pictures of my firewall bulkhead connector to support my post above. It looks like the bulkhead is different on my 80 K15 than the 77 C30 that @Timtom posted, so this won't really do @Timtom any good, sorry. My Circuit 30 is the wire in the bottom left, which looks to me kinda...

    1977 C30 Fuel Gauge wiring

@Timtom if you're still working on this I might have a bit of insight. You're asking about the solid tan fuel gauge wire. Yes, it is Circuit 30 on your diagram and it originates at the dashboard fuel gauge. It proceeds out of the firewall bulkhead connector (more on that later) and joins the...

Why did GM route Circuit Number 30 Fuel Gauge to Tank Unit as they did?

Thanks a lot, @mtbadbob and @RanchWelder . I appreciate the kind comments. So do I understand @RanchWelder correctly, that for a dual tank configuration, there's no reason for Circuit 30/30A to run all the way to the fuel tank area? And that's because the only function of Circuit 30 and Circuit...

Why did GM route Circuit Number 30 Fuel Gauge to Tank Unit as they did?

Hi, I'm using ST_352_80_1980_Chevrolet_Light_Truck_Wiring_CK_10_30_Only.pdf (don't know the actual title... the front page is not included in the PDF). Page 11 includes the "AUXILIARY FUEL TANK" schematic, and it illustrates circuits 30 and 53. Please see attached snippet...

FREE Driver Side Gas Tank Sending Unit

Hi, I'm giving away a Driver Side Gas Tank Sending Unit because I shouldn't have ordered it. It's brand new in the original box. Never been used. It was ordered from LMC Truck August 2023. It is LMC part number 32-4036. I should have ordered 32-4044 (and I've got that now). LMC says it's for...
