Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

I dont think its "really needed" but if I can find one I'll go a head and put them in. I might have a little time after work to swing by the junkyard here in Baytown.

    frame rivets for bolts

Try removing a rivet....they are plenty tight. It wont do any good to replace with a bolt unless you have one coming loose...highly unlikely though.

Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

Yes Andy that's exactly what it is even though I don't know what to call it, Ive looked everywhere but the junk yard. Ive searched every parts site I could find as well as local parts stores here in Baytown. I bet Retro could find out where to get one.

Need help finding a Ford 9in brake part

I have completely rebuilt my brakes for a 9in going into my 82 C10 and one little piece is missing and I cant find one anywhere. This is the piece Im missing and the arrow shows where it goes. Does anyone have one of these or knows where I can get one without buying a $400 brake assembly?

Question about wheel size and static drops

The biggest problem is the lower control arm to ground clearance.

lowering on the cheap - questions

Yes you have to cut the rivets out and measure then redrill the frame. Use grade 8 bolts 3/8 by 1in bolts with washers and lock washers. Driveline angle changes a little but typically doesn't cause any problems.

lowering on the cheap - questions

The cheapest way to drop 2/4in on the cheap is to cut 1 round off the front coils(2in), mount the front leaf spring hangers 4in higher on the frame, and install 2in drop shackles. That's about $50-60 in parts plus a front end alignment.

    Tachometer

Here is the new link for the tach. http://www.gmsports.com/content/new-tachometer-1973-1986-chevy-and-gmc-trucks Its $195, installs easily and I only lost the seat belt light and brake warning light.

    Lowering question

You can lower it a little without buying anything. You can cut one round off the front coil springs for 2in and you can relocate your leaf spring hangers up on the frame 3-4in. Anything more than that will require lowering parts or much more fab work.

In my humble opinion, those wheels are not very attractive.

    What is fair market value?

Got any pics? Lmc sells their repops for $169 pair. They got to be worth $200 minimum in perfect condition IMHO.

    Drum keeps locking up...

This is probably a longshot or a guess at best but did you istall the brake shoe with the longer pad to the back and shorter pad to the front? They are suposed to adjust when you apply the brakes in reverse, maybe if the shoes are backwards(long in front, short in back) they might be adjusting...
