Thoughts on Buying a Cheap 2nd Gen Camaro?

If you can do it cheap, go for it. Heck if you can do it for 1000, that's a no-brainer. Even if you get rid of it you can probably make a profit. That was always my favorite body style for the Camaros.

    Cranks without starting - ignition?

Thanks for the advice you guys. I was definitely beginning to panic yesterday. This morning I did as was suggested and tested the fuel system. Turns out, it is definitely a fuel problem, not electrical. Apparently the gas I saw in the carb yesterday was left over from the death throes of the...

    Cranks without starting - ignition?

Good idea. I'll test the wires, and depending on how much time I find in the morning tomorrow before work I'll see if I can get some photos too. I'll plan on trying this bright and early tomorrow and report back! I'm hoping that something in the fuel is the problem, I'm a lot more comfortable...

    Damn mice.

In my experience, a lot of it has to do with having a desire to be away from people. I.e., being willing to live somewhere that others are afraid to, and/or being more comfortable with nature than with other people. Most of the folks you find in these dangerous places are people like me that...

    Cranks without starting - ignition?

This is embarrassing, but I'm going to be forthcoming about it. Electrical is by faaar my weakest area. This is almost literally the first wiring I've done that wasn't on a motorcycle. So I have zero idea of what I'm doing. I thought I was being a big boy by adding a couple lights onto an...

    Cranks without starting - ignition?

Hey guys, So I ran into an issue this morning that I am hoping will have an obvious answer. '77 K15, quadrajet 350. Some background: drove the truck home on Sunday, running completely normally. On Tuesday, I wired up a new set of fog lamps. I had the battery disconnected as I did this. Wired...

    Any tips for sagging bumpers?

Well, if anyone stumbles across this thread, take note that as advised, the best and easiest solution is a little precision application of brute force.

    Ford Trash Talk Thread lol

Ran into a girl in town that I haven't seen in a long time, making small talk and catching up, told her I picked up an old 70's pickup and was doing some work with it. She asked what it was and I said a GM square...she looks all disappointed and goes, "Oh, I was hoping you were gonna say a...

What steerings wheels will swap with our trucks?

Been tossing around the idea of doing a new captain's control for my '77. Thought it might be fun to swap something from an older car or even a tractor just for something different. Found an old IH 16" wheel that would be pretty unique. A friend has got an old Pontiac something or other sitting...

    hood release cable

Funny enough, I just replaced my hood cable this morning and I was putting some thought into this exact situation. The way the stock cable sits, it's *almost* completely out of the way, so I wondered what it would take to go the extra step and just tuck it in the fender. It seems pretty...

    The daily

I usually don't pine after that gen, but I gotta admit, that ride is killin' it. The beauty is in the multiple details, you did a great job choosing just the right customizations to suit the truck. The cowl hood really brings the whole shape together. A-, only because the color isn't my...

    Any tips for sagging bumpers?

Noted! I'll be sure to take a careful look. However, just at an obvious glance the bumper itself is noticeably warped down it's length, and you can see the metal bending in spots. So I'm pretty sure it's from a real fat guy jumping rope on the step

    Any tips for sagging bumpers?

Seems like pretty much every old farm square I see has sagging corners on the rear bumper surely somebody has figured out an easy way to get them straight again. Takin my rear bumper off this week to give it some paint, and while I've got it off I wouldn't mind getting it a little...less sad...

New girl here....Dad was a mechanic on the side

I love a white truck, and dig the look of that rig with the shell on it. Mine is set up sort of similarly right now, but my camper is a bit taller and much goofier looking. Want to upgrade? It's for sale, haha. Anyway, love your story and your truck, welcome to the family.

General advantages of different style carbs

Hey guys, long story short - I have a perfectly fine Rochester q-jet on my 350, but through the magic of local connections I was recently offered an Edelbrock 1405 for $75. Again - I don't need it - but for $75 of course the wheels in my head started turning; maybe it would be fun to mess with...
