Not All Oil Priming Tools Are Crated Equal

I have seen these tools with NO lifter galley spool whatsoever. Amazing...... I guess what users can't see doesn't bother them. But, there is NO way oil can be pumped to the rockers if pressure cannot be built up. I requested a return for refund from the ebayer but was refused. I received the...

Not All Oil Priming Tools Are Crated Equal

OOPS...That's Not CREATED Equal The learning continues. I purchased an oil priming tool. Looks nice and nice bearing. But....it does not work............ The top flange which is supposed to keep oil in the lifter galley is too far up, allowing oil to escape from the galley. This prevents oil...

New pushrods are in and couldn't be any better. They check perfect with the gauge and witness marks on the valve stems. Gotta love it when a plan comes together........... Thanks, Rusty...

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

OK. Y'all who said my pushrods didn't look to be the correct length have won a morel victory. Using the above length checker I determined my pushrods to be about.045" too shirt. I was able to find Comp Cams pushrods in precisely the required length. They have a 5/16" x 7.250 length. That's my...

    Which Roller Lifter??

I see many sites list roller lifters being for "87 and up." Only difference I can find is that oil hole...........

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

As Hannibal Smith used to say, "I love it when a plan comes together!" New studs are in and rocker arms set in place (til I set pushrod length.) There is clearance out the wazoo now! No more scraping the valve covers with the lifters!!

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

I have installed the ARP rocker arm studs. Whereas with the PBM studs I was seeing gaps of .024" or so stud to stud, I see a gap of about .003" with the ARP studs. HUGE difference!

    Which Roller Lifter??

I have spoken with an engineer at a lifter manufacturer. He assures me that they will work fine. The oil hole is 90° to the location of the hole on an older engine, and that will cause no problem. Dimensions are identical. I did have one "technical" rep at a performance house tell me that the...

    Which Roller Lifter??

My 880 block IS roller ready. Question is, do LS1 lifters differ from LT1 lifters ? The LS1 lifters fit fine, but are there differences I am missing??

    Which Roller Lifter??

I am now questioning if the LS1 roller lifters which I have purchased are going to work in my Gen 1 , 1993 880 block engine. What are the differences among GM roller lifters? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

So I would have to use am aftermarket solid roller lifter to do pushrod length checks......... Am I to believe that an aftermarket solid roller would be identical in length to a factory hydraulic roller lifter??

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

As a matter of curiosity, I went searching for a solid roller lifter. I can't really seem to find what I am looking for............. Everything 'pears to be aftermarket...no OEM. What am I missing??

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

My engine is being built on an 880 factory roller block. The factory roller cam pushrods are shorter than flat tappet pushrods, 7.2" vs 7.8" respectively. The pushrods I have from Comp Cams are 7.205" per their specs. My can is an LT4 Hot Cam regrind by Willhoite's Cams, so the base circle may...

    Roller Rocker Arm Situation

I ordered a wet of those guide plates, but failed to read the specs carefully. I received guides for 3/8" pushrods, not the 5/16 which 'I need. Those have been returned. I ground the tabs off my fixed guide plates in order to use them as washers/spacers. I should receive my self aligning...
