Has Anyone Bought This A/C Compressor?

Just make sure that the wiring is at the correct position when you buy the compressor. There are two different locations/ configurations. There is a "9o'clock" and another one as well...maybe 12 o'clock? Idk. The first compressor I ordered whatever the case was the wrong position for the type of...

    cut to the chase

X2 buy a new one and get the lifetime replacement warranty. If you buy a remanufactured starter they usually come with a limited replacement warranty but are a little bit cheaper.

What have you done to your square lately??

Some more progress pics... I also have the transport wheels that will be on this truck. Next is gonna be tires. I am thinking 305x40x22. The old crusty springs are only in temporarily. The springs will be replaced with bags front and rear. This truck will be laid out on the frame when...

What have you done to your square lately??

Not the square, but the father of the square progress... After waiting what seemed forever on the parts to arrive...I finally have power assisted disc brakes on the 64 c10 ! Long gone are the days of stopping...or trying to stop with the old manual front drum brakes. I may also swap the...

    Battery Hold-Down Clamp

My local Autozone sells battery hold down clamps. They are somewhat universal. I had to buy one for my 64 c10 project truck since the p.o. thought using rope was sufficient (what a dumbass). Anywho...the hold down clamp at Autozone sells for under $20.

Looking to get a K10 for mid-life crisis

Replacing a clutch is rather straight forward. X3 on the plastic spline alignment tool. Grab a buddy, some pizza, beer and tear into it. If you can turn a bolt to take it apart, you just reverse order and put it back together. Replacing a clutch, throwout bearing and pressure plate is a good...

What have you done to your square lately??

115 is hot....but the humidity is hovering around 15 percent. I used to live in Pennsylvania . I certainly don't miss the humidity at all! Can you say SWAMPASS ???

What have you done to your square lately??

It hit 115 yesterday...so far the hottest day of the year. Hell at 830 am this morning it was over 100 degress already and windy to boot. I need to get motivated since my front disc brake conversion parts all came in this afternoon for my 64 c10.

    Drilled and slotted brake rotors

And the "road race" guys probably didnt do their research and bought solid rotors that were drilled out. For even better heat dissapation, they should use carbon rotors.

    Belltech SP drop shocks.

I am running a 255x45r20 on my fronts and 305x40r20 on the rear..without rubbing issues. I did remove the front oem fenderwells and made custom inner fenders to keep the engine bay clean.

    Drilled and slotted brake rotors

Holes dissapate heat. Try taking temp reading with an infrared thermometer next time. My cross drilled rotor ran cooler on average than my solid rotors. My solid rotors also warped faster than the slotted/cross drilled. This can be argued about as much as the muffler/hp debate. Btw the holes...

    Riddler’s or Junkyards?

I wouldn't buy chrome as it WILL peel. If it is in your budget, consider going with the same style wheel in aluminum. The chrome usually lasts 4-5 years depending on your region and how you maintain them. If in a "salt state"......well they may last 2 years. At least with aluminum, they can...

    Drilled and slotted brake rotors

I will see where I picked up the front pair for my 84 square 2wd. You will have to find out if your rotors are the heavy duty or regular duty version as there is a difference in the size (diameter) of the bearings. I didn't realize when I order my set until I went to install them. The company...

    Drilled and slotted brake rotors

Drilled and slotted rotor dissapeat heat faster and they have worked well on my toyota tacome 4x4...rolling on 35" bfg m/t tires. I have had them for five years. The only drawback is that they cannot be turned if they become warped. In most cases they can be found cheaper than oen rotors. I...

    Belltech SP drop shocks.

from what vehicle are this wheels?

Astro van (90's) or s10 for sure. Btw those hubcaps are hard to get in decent shape. It took me a few weeks to source mine that will be on my 22" transport wheels that I will install on my 64 c10. I would have preferred the dog dish Silverado ones, but could find any in good shape.

What have you done to your square lately??

More progress on my 64. Removed the front drum brakes, ball joints (what a pita that was as they were the original ones), spindles, brake lines and springs. Mid next week the disc brakes and drop spindles will be here. I just wrapped up installing the power brake booster and proportional...

    Another annoying AC Question

I was gonna suggest going to a pick and pull for the brackets. I was in a similar situation when I bought my truck. All of the parts were present for the ac EXCEPT the compressor and the upper bracket. I ended up going to a pick and pull and grabbing a bad compressor (I needed a core anyways for...

What have you done to your square lately??

My 84 HAD a courtesy light there, but I swapped it out for leds. All of the interioir lighting is led. Long gone are the days of melting the plastic housing and draining the battery so quickly.
