I love XJs. Ive had two. A 95 and 99. Both on 4.5 rustys lift and 32s. Turns out putting the temp sensor in the intake really is no good
I did in fact eventually have to drill two holes in the tstat to break the engine in. The temp sender was matched to the ohm range for my truck. I suspect its the gauge at this point. It now rises to about 3/4 for 190 where before it was around 2/3 for 190. But the aftermarket sender/gauge in...- Swearbody

WTF two new seperate thermostats not working+ more input needed

I definitely noticed the 2 readings being close once the thermo opened. I rerouted the wire to no avail...gauge still rises to almost pegged(3/4 up or more). The summit SS header I just installed(made for out trucks) fit really well imho. They went well with the dynomax 2.25inch pipe kit(also made for our trucks). Yeah I read that and NO Where did it say your original emissions had been removed or that it originally had a 305/700r4. From what I see thats not the original motor. looks like a vortec head to me i the pics. Center bolt valve covers...maybe tbi Also I dont see tip in vac switch ,egr ,or esc wires or modules in place.- Swearbody
