    I just installed a new painless harness and utilized the stock connectors. Maybe I am mixing up the nomenclature. Are you saying the turn signal under the headlight should be on and then blink when the turn signals on? Or are you talking about the small marker on the front fender by the wheel?

    While we are talking column stuff, did all trucks have low and high speed windshield wipers? My stalk only works in the "high" position.

    I think I would prefer the bigger wheel. But I have a non-tilt column. I suppose my legs may have a hard time getting under it.

    The gauges I got at Advance Auto work great. The backlighting leaves a lot to be desired though... I hope the printed circuit board isn't the issue. I guess I need to look into LEDs.

    I've been searching the yards but the only thing I ever find is a 2WD variant of the NV3500. I don't see many 2500/3500 vehicles in my local yards unless they are 2WD vans.

    My truck is an 86. I can't seem to find a source. Having the ashtray hang wide open and bounce is getting old. I want to be able to use the power port to charge my phone though.

    On an 86 are the front corner/marker lights supposed to be on when the headlights are on and blink (brighter?) when the turn signal is on? Mine only light up with the turn signal. The rear corners/markers light up with the headlights, but not turn signals. I'm trying to make sense of it...

    Can you go into more detail with what you mean by tightening the threaded retainer? I fear my mechanism is just broken. No amount of turning will open/close the latch inside. Doesn't seem to be connected by anything. Know a good source for a new replacement?

    Is it normal to not have plumbing for the upper HVAC vents on the heat-only HVAC systems? The dash pad has the usual chest-level vents but nothing connected to the back of them. As far as I can tell my system only has vents for the feet and windshield/defroster.

    Does anyone have good photos of where the stock speakers are installed? I do not see any speaker grilles, speaker-shaped holes where the speakers would mount, etc in my CUCV cab. I'm not sure if there were any installed in these cabs or if I'm missing something.

    Can you go into more detail on how you wired this? I have the sending unit and pump in my garage. The tank and tank straps are coming later this week. Is the grey wire power for the pump? Purple power for sending unit? Are both grounded through the black wire with the ring terminal? Any source...

    I'm sure they are a custom, one-off build that are expensive. Just keep in mind that the T56 will bolt up to Gen I/II SBCs. The TR6060 will bolt up to Gen III/IV/V SBCs.

    I think I'm good. I know how the stock setup should look. Just trying to figure out how to make this Grant setup work or if I should just buy a secondhand OEM column/wheel.

    Yeah, I guess I need to buy the whole horn installation kit from Grant or just get a replacement OEM wheel. I jumper the horn contact to the center shaft and the horn does in fact work.

    I was trying it without installing the button. Just pushing down in the contact. If I just have to jump the contact to the center shaft I can try that.

    It worked before I rewired the truck. But no, I am still confused how the horn works. It grounds through the mounting bolt and I just supply 12 volts to the connector?
