Suburban Rear AC not circulating refrigerant

the rear high side tees off before the orifice tube, goes through an expansion valve and evaporator core, and then back to the front and tees in after the accumulator. the rear expansion valve is new.... the orifice tube cools the front before the front evaporator core and it is cooling great...

Suburban Rear AC not circulating refrigerant

on my 1990 suburban, i have been fighting AC issues since my sanden gave up the ghost. All lines flushed and blown out (including rear lines and rear evaporator core, blown from where the expansion valve connects), evaporator core flushed and blown, new condenser, new orifice tube, new...

swapping 1990 grill with 2 side by side headlights to 1985 with 2 stacked headlight per side. Lots of questions?

to fire the lows with the highs, you need another set of relays to trigger the lows using the highs as the "switch" without adding extra amps to any of the wiring.

    350 TBI o2 sensor

as long as it will get hot, a 1 wire is fine....not sure there is any difference except the heating element in the 3 wire

    Temp sensor disconnected

knock sensor is in the block in front of the starter on my 1990 TBI motor. I don't remember the wire color off hand, but it is a single wire. as others posted, temp sensor for the gauge is in between spark plugs 1 and 3. coolant temp sensor for a TBI motor that the ECM uses is next to the...

R4 to Sanden whith stock ac lines(for serpantine)

you want to tap into the single wire going from the low pressure cutoff switch on the accumulator to the original compressor. I forget if it is light or dark green....but don't bypass the low pressure cutoff switch

I want to add a factory tach to my 1990 Jimmy?

agree with above, based on my research on my 1990 burb. I think Dakota Digital is the answer for 90-91 if you want something that looks stock. otherwise add a tach at some other location that suits you. I just use ALDLRdroid app on my phone and a OBD1 Bluetooth ALDL reader to check engine RPM...

    Under hood light

ok. figured his being an 89 and mine a 90, that they'd be the same. but pics always help! mine is mounted on the firewall towards the passenger side of center.

    Basic volt drop test

if you have current flowing through the circuit from a parasitic draw, you will read a voltage across the fuse. you can also measure amps directly, i think. but if you have a big draw it can blow the fuse in the meter.

Any value in California emissions air pump stuff

running a charcoal cannister is probably a good idea even if you don't run the AIR pump.

    Basic volt drop test

I've always just checked for parasitic draws by measuring volts or amps across the individual fuse by putting the meter on the test points on the back of each fuse.

    33” tire rim width

I run BFG 33x10.5r15 on those rims. I believe the 12in wide tires are too wide for the 7in rim width.

1987 V2500 Choke light kicks on, and Trans wont kick into overdrive

700r4 column pattern is P R N OD D 2 1. if you are missing a stop on the column, somebody may have put in a non-OD transmission. compare the pan shape to GM transmission pan shapes to figure it out. if you do have a "choke" light, somebody has swapped in a different cluster. if it is the check...

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

seems reasonable if the engine isn't running.

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

make sure you have the right chart for your engine. also, I'd be sure to trace all the plug wires to make sure that they are all in the correct spot and order on the cap.

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

the emissions and drivability manual is what you want.

Ac Delco ignition module not compatable wIth duralast distributor?

if you are sure plug wires are on the cap right and the distributor is stabbed correctly for timing, there is a "crank no start" chart in the drivability manual. follow where that leads you. anything else is a shot in the dark.

I want to drive an '89 suburban 700 miles home, what should I know?

my 90 burb, with 3.73 gears, 3in lift, and 33x10.5xr15 BFG AT gets about 13mpg at 73-74mph. if you have no lift and it is in halfway decent mechanical shape, you ought to at least be able to get 13mpg burning down the highway at 70mph.

What have you done to your square lately??

yeah, pretty straight forward fix if you dont mind doing it twice :) run wipers and let them parup at top if sweep. unbolt motor. unhook linkage. move linkage to proper park position for wipers. hook up linkage to motor. bolt on motor.
