Leaking transmission pan plug

Now we move into desperation territory (seeking advice)...
Did GM use relays more on the later year trucks? Could be an ECU - also a sticking or failing relay. I've had simple grounds (with stripped bolts) wreak havoc with runability issues. With electronic gremlins it can be a case of what is it or what isn't it.- Doppleganger

What causes cylinder wear like this?
It was a spray can - the label looks like its changed a bit. My friend ordered it from someplace in Cinci. He's been gone about 6 yrs now, so lots has probably changed.- Doppleganger

What causes cylinder wear like this?
A long time tech friend of mine used to spray Hylomar on every HG he did. Something that Rolls Royce supposedly came up with. I used copper spray but he swore by the Hylomar.- Doppleganger

This is $34 worth of bolts. Place was pretty proud of them I guess. 1 is a 5/16 and the other 2 are 8mm. Hard (and pricey) part is finding them this long, with a button head and in grade 8. Not sure what it is - thats just a video I found online of a similar situation that turned out well for someone. Plugs and wires (and coil) are all new. It started this racket about 2min after its second start. It ran just fine before - even with a bad HG. First start and 2 min of the second start it was smooth and very quiet. Even with this noise, the tach is solid and steady. No CE lights either. I cant...- Doppleganger

If it is a rod bearing, it was at idle for -maybe- 2 min total when it happened, so (hopefully) minimum damage if any. I know a guy who spun one under boost - he pulled the pan and replaced it in the car and it was fine til he sold it 3 yrs later. Going to pull the head on that side this weekend...- Doppleganger

I dont think the SOHC motors are interference - I know the DOHC ones are though. Idle is smooth and solid - just this banging. Only upside is its on the passenger side and that can be accessed much easier while still in the car.- Doppleganger

See what you guys make of this. Had a blown HG but car ran perfectly. Had heads rebuilt. Installed them and gave it a go. Started perfectly and idled smooth and incredibly quiet. Topped off the coolant and ATF. Had it running with heat on high to get the air out. After about 3 min a slight tick...- Doppleganger
