^Good note there, forgot I had to do the same thing with my TT's. My US Mags didn't need them but certainly something to check

    Tire size confusion.

Just ignore what the websites say (and even the salesman at the counter) about it "not fitting" your vehicle. Even with newer stuff, they're wrong alot of the time. Put whatever tire size you want on there

    1981-82 Metal Lower Tailgate Mldg

Man I'd love to get my hands on one of these with the clips to stash away and maybe see if I could talk the powers that be to repop them

What’s the best polish for the bumpers and mirrors

Only reason I don't do the windshield is I've found it makes the wiper skip across

    Show your daily driver

Finally finished buffing, polishing and waxing the daily. Might ought to start a thread on this one cuz it's gonna continue to get a bunch of love over the next couple years

    8l90E trans shudder

Unfortunately the 8L is known for failures. My buddy's '16 Denali, he went through 3 8L's and converters before he got tired of it and traded it off. His little brother's '17 6.2/8L90 started shuddering at ~70k miles. He did the service/fresh fluid/additives and that bandaided it for ~5k miles...

A small section of bed floor

I can attest to the patches not matching the contour of the ribbing. We carry them just cuz it's better than nothing but they don't line up. They're basically intended for woods trucks/"good enough"/still working them hard trucks. Definitely look around to see if you can find a piece of an...

What’s the best polish for the bumpers and mirrors

Was gonna say, whatever you use, once you're done throw some wax on it and it'll be much easier to keep clean going forward. I literally wax everything that isn't rubber or the windshield. Paint, side and back glass, lights, chrome, mirrors, everything.

Only time I wear gloves is working on something hot or doing brakes/rotating tires.

What have you done to your square lately??

Started it and rolled the windows up. Poor thing hasn't moved or even gotten a bath since Fall Revival

    Replacement fenders

If you're referring to rear stepside fenders, I'd suggest repairing your originals or finding other good originals. There's only one tool out there for those repops and it is not great. Better than nothing, but lots of work to get them nice.

81-87 fenders and doors on a 78, will it work without modifications

Doors are the same '77-91. Fenders will not work, the whole front clip is different from '73-80 and '81-91, fenders/hood/core support/front harness/hood hinges/cowl/wipers/etc.

What have you done to your square lately??

I love 'em. I wanna build a 4x4 for the GF like that. Small lift and 33s, bed bars with Daylighters up top and a couple hung backwards underneath, 2 more Daylighters on the front bumper or old school square fogs, some kinda retro graphics and either white wagon wheels or slot mags

    Check out my rear end

No, you're thinking of a locker where the axles *always* spin the same. A locker keeps the two wheels locked together at all times and chirps the inside tire on tight turns. A posi should lock and unlock as needed, so it should typically operate like an open diff around turns. A posi works by...

    Fuel economy C10 with carb

I would say that's about as good as you'll ever see. My '85 (305, T350, 2.73 rear gear) got 12 on the highway, 12 in the city, 12 uphill, 12 downhill, 12 sitting in the driveway, 12. But it had 2 cylinders down on compression. I have a few friends that have seen as good as 14-15 with a healthier...

    Aftermarket hood does not open

Got any pictures? That would go a long way in helping us figure it out Have you tried pushing down on the hood after you've pulled the cable? For my '85, with a new cable and well lubricated latch, I have to whack the hood after I've pulled the release every time.

This one needs to go, asking for opinions. Offering it up here first.

Yep. Every windshield I've ever had to have replaced was either due to an 18-wheeler or a normal car/truck kicking something up. Considering how little those extreme lifted trucks get driven, they're not the problem

Wah. Those are very common here in the southeast, not at all illegal. Dude didn't build it and said he had plans to bring it back down to a reasonable height. You can get off your high horse now.
