'73 Chevelle SS Wagon (local find)

Dang! I missed my chance to check this thing out! We were there, but busy enough that I didn't get away from the booth much either day. Sunday was the only day I got to walk around a good bit

What have you done to your square lately??

Same, I hate that Dexcool crap. I've seen people claim that the green stuff can cause corrosion issues in aluminum blocks but until my green starts to turn brown, I don't believe that a bit.

    Dually guys, need your opinions!

Where? I haven't seen any squarebody dually fenders being re-popped. I've even talked to Mike at SloshTubz about it cuz I think there's enough of a need that he could do it.

    Dually guys, need your opinions!

Unfortunately no. We've had many, many conversations about dually fenders and hardware/brackets and I've gotten shut down every time. And I get it, from our standpoint, the amount of sales we'd need vs the tooling costs just don't make sense. And they don't want to do just part of it (say, just...

    Gas cap

You should have a factory vapor canister under the hood. Get under it and trace the lines from the tank to the vapor canister and make sure there's not pinches/restrictions. You can try removing the line on the vapor canister for a couple days and see if the issue goes away, you'll just smell...

    3 on the tree

3OTT = 3 on the tree. I don't know anything about the M13, whether it's on the tree or the floor or anything. But the guy I'm talking about did all of the upgrades that they sell to that 3 speed and it's blown up every time. He'll get maybe 6-10mo out of it before it's hurt again. I get the...

Regearing Advice... What do I need?

I will say I was warned that Richmonds, when you go deeper than 3.73 are noisy. I can confirm, my 3.90 Richmonds do have a minor howl. Nothing bothersome, can't hear it over the exhaust or radio anyway lol

    OEM grille material

'73-80 were plastic grilles with metal headlight surrounds. '81-up is all plastic. Throughout all of the years 73-87, certain trim levels got various stainless pieces added to the grille or surrounding the grille

    3 on the tree

I can tell you, the guy that bought my old '70 C10 (6cyl 3 OTT truck) put a hot 355 small block in it and kept the 3OTT. It's probably in the ~425hp 400tq range and he's busted the 3OTT several times over the past 5 years. Enough that he plans to put a Tremec TKO behind it. He, like you, enjoyed...

    GMT 800 cab corners/rockers rust?

I have yet to look at one real close that had rust like that but it's certainly a common issue in the GMT800s. Cab corners and rockers both like to rust through, even if the truck is mostly cared for. I know the rockers have some drains that can get clogged and I'd assume that's why they rot but...

Regearing Advice... What do I need?

4.10s will be perfect. I've had 2 NBS trucks with factory 4.10s and 33s and it was a great combo. When I regeared my truck, I got everything from Quick Performance. They're great to work with. Not sure if they deal in front axle stuff or not but if they do, that's who I'd recommend.

    Bench Seat Too Far Forward?

Good to know! Glad it was a simple fix

    Bench Seat Too Far Forward?

Yeah that's too far forward. Mine touched the back wall when it was all the way back. Might double check that something's not bound up or bent or you don't have some kind of obstruction

What have you done to your square lately??

I've got some protouring suspension to go on it and that will also mean larger brakes, can't run 15s at that point. If for whatever reason that doesn't end up happening though, I will definitely get a set of rallies to swap out when my mood changes

    USA made sliding window assembly?

Just to add a note, the back glass opening/back cab panel is the same '73-87. The glass shape and the seals are all the same, the only change is '81-up went to slightly thinner glass to save weight in order to help meet CAFE standards. Even though the later glass is thinner, it's only a MM or so...

Tailgate hangs too low when opened. Any way to get it more level?

Is it a truck or a suburban? They shouldn't be past 90*. If it's a truck, it shouldn't have cables, it should have metal hinges. If it's a 'burb, they do have cables and I'd assume someone just put the wrong cables on that are too long

Where to buy stock mechanical fuel pump that isn't trash?

I can't help ya with recommendations cuz I went LS but I feel your pain on not being able to find a decent pump or even a pump at all. Mine died on the 305 in my driveway thankfully, was warming the truck up and heard it die from inside the house. I live NE of Atlanta and it took me checking...

    ‘83 ‘84 GMC Grille on eBay @Streetdreamer

There was a guy this weekend that rolled up into the C10s in the City lot as we were all breaking down after the show was over. Some hood rat in a beat up old Accord but had a pristine/new looking '81/82 and an '83/84 GMC grille, both dual headlight and a set of GMC hub caps, a couple Pollack...
