    Tire size question

I run 33/12.50-15's on a K10 for near 40 years and they never hit/rubbed anything except the right side running board once in a while if bouncing through a turn. That was using GM 15x8 wheels. It would happen more when using 15x10's the short time I had the Jackman wheels on my 81 plow truck.

2.5 Rockwells is anybody running these

Plenty of time spent with Rockwells, just not under civilian vehicles. I can tell you that my 4x4 gps' out at 74 mph with 47" Goodyears on paved road. I have room for 1600's which are 53 inch but, it kills the power on grades while holds speed good with the smaller tires. For serious off roading...

    Oil Pan Bolts

I used to replace the bolts with pan stud kits on engines I rebuilt. It made it a lot easier if you needed to drop the pan while still in the vehicle any time later on my light trucks. Changed rod bearings and oil pumps on many engines this way. .

Where can I get this connector?

Using a flat pick, narrow flat pick, or a barrel pick, (great for weather pack terminals), will remove move wires from a Packard connector without damage when used properly. Pushing the terminals in before inserting tool allows the lock pin to be released easier before pulling the terminal out...

What kind of lift kit would you recommend

None. If you just want to go slighter taller get some 255/85-16's. These don't hit and fill the wheel wells nicely.

Converted NP203 grinding sound in 2WD

Just general info. Over the years info from Chiltons isn't the most reliable when it comes to fluids. In the linked thread there was info from Chiltons that was incorrect. As for the 203 cases if you live in a warm climate most of the year straight 30 is ok. If you live where it is/gets colder...

Converted NP203 grinding sound in 2WD

When filling a 205 transfer case this link is informative. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/help-identifying.31108/#post-616175 The 203 Full time were listed for 10-30 or 10-40. Part timed many, but always used the new machined shaft kits on my stuff. Never had any problems with oiling. I...

    350 to 366 swap in a 75 C 30, How much of a PIA?

Works fine. It will pass anything but a gas station but, for a local work truck it does a great job. Parts are available from GM. Have not had any problem finding any parts as this engine was in a lot of school buses also.

    350 to 366 swap in a 75 C 30, How much of a PIA?

This tall deck is indeed in a 1986 square 4x4. No clearance problems. I did have to make some brackets for the dual alternators. Only air cleaner I found that would clear under the hood. No sheet metal work or the like to install. Truck has 4.56 rears and 35" tires. Many of the local "milk...

    350 to 366 swap in a 75 C 30, How much of a PIA?

Wrong. No problem buying distributor or an aftermarket intake for the peanut port tall deck engine. The new intake will work with most aftermarket heads out of the box There are kits that are spacers that allow a standard deck intake to be used, (spacers/gaskets). This Dart intake requires a...

    Emergency brake

I have had eight 30 Series GM pickups, 5 of which I bought new, for a continuous period of over 40 years. Three 2WD and the other five 4 WD. All were Turbo 400 transmission equipped and not one of them had a W crossmember. None of them had the crossmember inside the frame rails. Every year that...

What happened to all the S10's

The 2000 S10 pickup was the only 4 cylinder and 2 wd we owned. It was bought as an economy run a round vehicle at the end of the model year with a low price tag. It ran well enough but, I always wished it had the 4.3 It did some long distance parts runs when it was able enough to fit the load.

What happened to all the S10's

A few years ago my immediate family had 7 at one time., Wife, two adult children, and me. 1991, 92, 93, 95, 96, 98, and 2000. We had owned other years since 1985. The Teal 95 had the CPI engine. While we no longer own any of these I still have a S15 Jimmy and a 02 S10 Blazer for a run through...

Overdrive Trans or Ring and Pinion swap?

1976 they had a shortage of what was referred to as the "motorhome" axle in slang language. This rear differential did not have a threaded fill plug in the housing, but a pop in fill plug. It had the name "Spicer" right on it. That made that axle different than all the others I ever had or...

Overdrive Trans or Ring and Pinion swap?

When I ordered my last 2 wheel drive dually in 1976 it was in May of that year. They had a shortage of Dana 70 axles that summer and when mine arrived it had a Spicer. No problem, it worked great Just a good ole 454 with 3.73 gear.

Looking at 92 Yukon for my son

We love our 1994 K2500 Suburban. We have done the entire circumference of Lake Erie on one tank of fuel. The 6.5 Turbo Diesel, 42 gallon fuel tank, and 4L80E transmission is a plus. Updated the wheels to aluminum long ago and it rides great on the factory option 265/75-16's. Still wearing...
