    Daily driver turbo

I took the K20m to the body shop, and the 85 c10 to a diesel shop, so things are getting done. While I replaced the starter, batteries, glow plug controller, had the injector pump rebuilt.....I could not get the 85 running. I will run it for awhile as it is, this will be my Bonneville wood...

    Daily driver turbo

First pic is the motor. Second is the truck, interesting in that it shows my 64 Nova, the Bridgeport mill, and Cleman's mountain in the background. Third is the stock starter, which I want to replace with a mini starter, so if anyone reading this, has done this with success, post me. At this...

Other mods will include a hydro boost setup off an 86 Suburban, will mod the stock brake peddle. Buying two front fenders, inner and outer rockers, cab mounts and maybe floor. My cab is very rusty, but have not found a doner truck that I can afford with a cab that is close in year to mine. Must...

    Daily driver turbo

I will paint the frame, so all the underside will be protected, hopefully for the rest of my life. Speaking of my life, Doc said Cancer is in remission, so full steam ahead. I may buy an exhaust manifold for the passenger side, to speed up the fabrication, though have Mig, and Tig welders, and...

    Daily driver turbo

After months of being too busy, and looking at the $ situation, and trying to be a little practical, I have decided to keep the 454 in the 1973 K20. That is such a fun motor, and yes it like gas, But it will not be driven every day. Having said that, Next week the truck goes in for some much...

    Restoring old family truck

Great thing to do with your kids Daniel, I did that with mine, they still talk about how fun it is. Guy around here has a 292 in a 37 chevy pickup, with a small turbo, does 12'S in the quarter mile. Don't tell this to the kids.......yet. Oh yeah, my fav exhaust sound, split exhaust six cyl.

    Underside of hood coating ideas?

I am cautious about the hood, as you see so many that have been bent, so lube the pivot points, I agree with Todd, (Grit Dog), paint, doesn't add weight. I wash my motors a few times a year, so I do not like hood insulation because it does not stand up to the pressure washer, but hood sound...

    Reading Spark Plugs

Dieseling or running on is normally caused by advanced timing for the gas you are using.

    Question about headers

on a 454 in a 1973 K20. Been on 3 1/2 years, never touched them, no leaks. I run my truck hard, and in the hills. I did rejet the HOLLY 750 4150 Vac secondary. Runs like stink, sounds great, (hooker areo chamber muffs). I did wrap my old style starter. Used high heat paint but had to take the...
