    Issues with seatbelts

I can feel these hanging weights with my fingers and no amount of playing with them makes these belts free. I want to disassemble everything, inspect it, clean it, grease what's greaseable and reassemble it knowing that they are in a good working order. I twisted and slipped T50 wrench in a...

Question: What's the bolt size & thread for rear (middle row) seatbelts? Looks like mine doesn't want to come out in one piece...

    Ideas for missing headliner

Progress! I settled on using 4 mm plywood as a base and a carpet material shown before. I used a high temperature trim glue after trying out some other adhesive on sound deadening which failed miserably in a 34 deg C heat.Carpet is rigid enough so that the plywood does not to be as wide as the...

Is rear side window identical on 1990 Burb and 1980s dual/bonus cab?

Thank you all, I'm afraid that in a meantime someone just bought the whole part truck out of the scrap yard :(

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

A follow-up: Cruise seems to be fixed. Where was the leak - I don't know, I bet that the best guess is from Rusty Nail with the vacuum pod leak around the nipple. Now it seems to have more power, I can feel how it accelerates and slows down a bit in cycles and even has enough force to downshift...

Is rear side window identical on 1990 Burb and 1980s dual/bonus cab?

I looked at pictures and I can't tell a difference. I see that people sell rear door side glass as fitting both Suburban and pickups, so I guess the shape is identical. Which year did the glass thickness changed? My glass seems to be a laminated type, otherwise it would just shatter to tiny...

    4.1 mpg?

I missed the posts from 2nd page, with no vacuum advance part of the combustion will happen in exhaust manifold, that's how the fuel may burn without creating usable work, just heat the exhaust.

    4.1 mpg?

4.1 mpg (57.3 L/100 km) I don't believe it's possible it's actually burned, the amount of heat to reject would be immense. Maybe it's not firing on all 8 or running crazy rich? Any smoke?

Is rear side window identical on 1990 Burb and 1980s dual/bonus cab?

Like in topic title. I have one layer of my rear passenger side window cracked and someone's parting out an 86' C30 which is super rare in Poland, so... Why not if it fits? Any differences in shape, mounts, thickness, whatever? Lack of oven tint is not an issue. Or actually it is because dark...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

Nice looking rig! To be honest with the market we have in Europe I got what I could, even though Suburban was on my wish list for years it would be nicer to have a Blazer/Jimmy or a short bed pickup, possibly even RWD. Burb looks nice, but the carpets, etc. are far from being practical, however...

Is it Dupli-Color? Do you know the exact type/code of that paint? My panels especially in cargo area could take some renovation too and yours look great! How durable is that paint?

    Torque Converter Recommendation

That was a great writeup, thank you! What I didn't think about is that engine speed directly correlates to the amount of ATF pumped by transmission and if the amount is too low there may be less volume than needed to keep with the line pressure demand. Line pressure drops or does not rise fast...

    Torque Converter Recommendation

I'd like to understand more about this issue of 3-4 clutch pack burning and excessive heat with tall gears. Starting from heat what is actually happening when the transmission spins slowly while driving? Gears are engaged, so no clutch or band should slip, TCC should be locked, what is creating...

    best rear gears for 700r4

Do you know your current ratios? What does your glove box sticker say about your axles? (via RPO codes). Ideal gear will depend on your wheel size. Your assumption of wrong gears is quite possible, if your rpm is about 2000 in 1:1 ratio and now in D it would be close to 1400 in OD, provided that...

    Door panel resto- backyard style

It looks great! How did you replace the fabric, did you cut the stiches out and re-sewn the plastic trim around? I'm always afraid of painting plastic, is this paint tried and tested to have good adhesion?

Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?

I'm positively surprised with my Burb gas mileage on highway: Conditions: 62 mph/100 km/h driving (GPS speed) for most of the way, some back roads, temperatures over 33*C / 90 F, no A/C, mostly flat, all windows down most of the time, 2 people and some camping stuff on board. Wheels are...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

I have a vacuum system. I've actually replaced two hoses just next to actuator that looked old and cracked and nothing has changed. Other hoses did pass the visual inspection so I didn't bother to change them. I need to get a vacuum gauge... Or actually I do have an electronic gauge, but it's...

Cruise control works for a while then starts to lose speed

My Cruise control is bit erratic. I've searched the forums and I couldn't find a thread that would describe similar issues. My cruise control works, but starts to misbehave after couple of minutes of driving. First it works correctly then it starts to slowly lose speed, applying too little...

Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?

That's a very popular mod in Poland, we use a mix of propane and butane, under the term LPG. Out of every 10 gas powered cars 2 or 3 are LPG equipped. Biggest benefit: Price. A liter of LPG costs more than twice less than a liter of regular gasoline and due to popularity you can get it...

    Issues with seatbelts

I can feel that dangling weight with my fingers under front retractors. From what I've learned I need Torx T50 to remove seat belts to inspect them. Maybe there is a chance to clean or grease something or to give the spring one or two more rotations to make it work better.

    Issues with seatbelts

Hi all, My seatbelts suck & lack of proper seatbelts is a major issue for me. I have dual retractors, independent for the lap belt and shoulder belt and middle seats with adjustable lap belts. Retractors seem to work different than in modern cars, that is you can pull as fast and hard as you...
