A saw will work too :) It's way easier to make a big shroud small, than a small shroud big, lol. Reminds me of a totaled '88 C1500 that a coworker had bought and repaired in the late 90's. He used a v8 shroud on the v6 truck. It was the dead of winter and we needed to move it for one reason or...

What have you done to your square lately??

What shop? I'll bet it's the one that my buddy Cody works at. I think you've met him. He's the one that owned my gray '84 Z28 for a couple years.

    Steering Wheel Cleaning

Gunk, or the goo that comes from the degrading old rubber/plastic that the wheel is made from? I usually either install a steering wheel cover, or replace the wheel. But I did not want to replace the original wheel on my '73 wagon. Iirc, I scrubbed it with glass cleaner and a terry towel...

350 sounds like a diesel engine

Right, but what if you romp on the gas pedal a couple times? Like, let it really spin up a bit. Is there a horrible noise to go along with it? If not, that can be a good sign.

I've never compared them side by side, but I'm betting you can reuse the entire v6 engine harness. Iirc, the engine mounts are different, but the holes are there for the v8 mounts. If your donor v8 does not have the mount brackets on it, let me know, I think I have an extra pair that I can send you.

Has anyone weighed a 15x8 rally wheel

And that 25.8 lbs is no fun when it's 100+ degrees outside and you are carrying one all the way across the state fairgrounds, from the swap meet, to the spectator parking lot.

    Car Hauler tips/tricks/ideas

Ok I'm just nit picking here, but you can never strap anything down too good. On the front, if you are going to use the long run of straps like that, imho it would have been better to cross them so they form an "X". Otherwise, just use a shorter run of strap and go down to one of the closer...

C20 Camper Special 454 Engine Starter Wiring

Nevermind, I see in your info that it's a '74. So the yellow wire going to the "R" terminal should be correct. Unless an HEI distributor has been installed, then you don't need it. What size eyelet is on the little red wire? I can't tell. Does it fit on the large stud?

Suburban leaf spring choice - sagging rear - question on stock ride height

Hey, I guessed right! Lol. A simple 2 inch block will get you 1" of rake to combat the illusion. Or if you are good with just getting it level, you can get a pair of 1" "zero rates" from Offroad Design. They are basically a 1", solid steel block but they actually bolt into your spring pack.

350 sounds like a diesel engine

Wow, it really DOES sound like a diesel! What happens to the sound when you rev up the engine? Does it kinda go away or does it rattle a bunch more when you wing it a couple times?

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Nothing beyond the low output, LG4 305. Just like a regular Firebird. Although if paired with a 5 speed, it's still fun to drive imho.

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

It was basically a sporty appearance package and included a bunch of options that were not standard on the base Firebird. It got you the higher trim level interior, the added insulation, the lighting package, gauges I believe, aluminum wheels, the special hood, the T/A smoked taillights and some...

Ford has for a long time too. Like I said, there's literally millions of them out on the road.

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

If the hood has 4 vents (two up front, two towards the rear), then it is a Trans Am hood and would mean that those taillights are likely not original to the car. It would be cool if it really is a real S/E. I've only ever seen one of them in person that I can remember. Oddly enough, I just...

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

Do you remember if the hood has two little vent openings in it? A regular Firebird hood is just plain and flat. A Formula hood has the offset blister scoop. Trans Am hoods are like the S/E hood, but have 2 additional vents, for a total of 4.

Suburban leaf spring choice - sagging rear - question on stock ride height

Also, if you are happy with how the truck rides, just install lift blocks. Without seeing pictures, I'm betting you won't need more than 2" to do what you want. Simple, cheap and doesn't change the spring rate. And before anyone starts saying "lift blocks are bad, blah, blah blah..." They...

Suburban leaf spring choice - sagging rear - question on stock ride height

Yeah, measure at the rocker panel. If the rocker panel is level, the truck is level.

1992 RS Camaro. First car for Der Burger.

First one is an '89 RS. Second one is an '82-'86 Sport Coupe. The last one, if those taillights are original to the car, is an incredibly rare '85 Firebird S/E. Can't see the hood good enough to verify.

    65 C30 Dually Bed

That's a really cool look for the bed, with those rounded corners. Those corners pieces would have been stamped, I believe. I'm not sure where would be a good place to start looking for such a thing, other than old wrecking yards that have a lot of trucks and agricultural equipment.
