I need some clear instruction on installing the door rod ( from outside handle ). I got a new clip. slid it onto bracket from the bottom. But there doesn't seem to be anyway or anything to capture the rod. I'm obviously missing something. The little bump on the clip catches in the bottom of the upper hole. So the bottom hole is open on the front but the back of the clip blocks the rod from going in that hole. Do I have the wrong clip? Any help appreciated. Thanks

How about some pics so we have a better understanding of your issue?

There are several videos on the you tube.

Sounds like it may be installed backwards.

Thanks for the replies. I've watched the videos, but nobody gets into it deeply. It's very hard to see in there. I'm hoping to get a reply from someone who has actually done it and can explain exactly what is capturing that rod.
