    12v Swap Into 87 C30

I'm pretty sure the inputs don't swap between the 208 and 241. But hopefully I'm wrong about that because if so, I could have fixed up one of my 208s already.

Correct. The 10 spline died with the figure 8 version of the 205, after '84. 465/208 was 32 spline.

    Finally, a squarebody forum!

Howdy from Ohio! There are usually stud kits in the Help!/Dorman area. Also, many hardware stores like Ace stock hardened automotive type studs. They should be 3/8", fine thread from what I recall. Or maybe 5/16"... I'm having a brain fart right now. What part of Illinois? A member here @Kim...

Don't be sorry:) If they were behind an sm465, they were 10 spline. If they were behind a th350, they were 27 spline. These two units are the same, other than the [male] input splines. They utilized a drive coupler, within the case adapter, to connect them to the output shaft of the...

Nice! I wish I would have been more adamant about it before. But it was just a hunch about the ignition module... I didn't want to pester you about it and have it change nothing, lol.

    Replacing 454 gaskets opinion

The problem with this is, it increases the chances of the "might as wells" greatly. Some might say that iffin' it ain't broke, don't go fixin' it. I can't say that I'm one of those people though, lol.

    2 post shop lift

My high school didn't either, BUT there was a tech/trade school offered for juniors and seniors of my school district and 4 other school districts in the area. It's still in operation today.

I don't remember exactly when that tech school was built, but I do believe it was in the early 70's.

I have been wondering what those were going for these days. I bought a couple of the 27 spline versions 10 or 15 years ago. Both complete with adapter, shifter and crossmember. One of them even came with the front shaft. I think I paid $100 for one, and $125 for the one with a front shaft.

    2 post shop lift

When I was in high school tech class, our shop's lift was a 2-post, in ground lift. Post in the front, post in the rear. The front and rear was on separate controls too, and the worst part was that they went up at very different speeds. Even then, it seemed like a sketchy thing to have, with a...

    Filling small holes without welding

I've never actually measured any of mine for thickness, but they have all definitely had thicker sheetmetal than the average newer vehicle. And I worked a body shop for a good while too. Now, they definitely don't have sheetmetal as thick as most 60's and early 70's GM stuff though.

    Resistor question

I believe that is the trailer brake power adjustment for an ancient brake setup. You could move that slider doohicky along the spring wire doohickys to adjust the amount of resistance. I've seen them, but never used them.

    2 post shop lift

A 4 post lift will often get in the way of stuff you are trying to work on. But in a lot of situations, it makes it easier to work on some things too. If going with a 2 post, then you also have to decide if symmetrical or assymetrical arms will suit your needs better. And if you are ok with...

Suburban rear door jamb rust fix

Yeah, that's why I said good for a beginner, because it can mostly be hidden. Or at least, it's an area that won't stand out like a sore thumb if the work is kinda shoddy. Honestly, as long as the rust gets cut out and some kind of metal attached back in place to seal it off, it will be fine...

    Engine Paint Color Question

Engines that were painted orange or blue, they were painted as a long block. Block, heads, intake, water pump, balancer and all. It wasn't just the block and heads that were painted orange or blue. Fwiw, I prefer the Chevy Orange. I've had a couple oversights where I've went with black engines...

Suburban rear door jamb rust fix

I disagree. I think that's a minor repair, and a good one for beginners too. Cut out the roof skin of the effected area, just large enough to also have good access to that outer layer of jamb area. Then cut out the bad area of the jamb. Cut out more of the donor than you will need, then separate...

Any cb’s that would fit in the radio slot?

I've got an old CB that is small enough that it would easily fit in the radio slot. It's an old Radio Shack or Realistic brand iirc. It's only 3 channels though. I'm betting there are others on ebay.

Vince's TBI woes, progressive revelations, and tbi mods.

You should feel the magnetic effects every 8th of a turn. The inner and outer rings have 8 points each, for an 8 cyl engine. ^^^And as crappy as that one looks, it still works perfectly fine.

@Vbb199 I thought I mentioned the ignition module as being a possibility. They usually work or not, but on occasion, they do act just kinda goofy instead of dying completely.

Best way to transport 19 55 gallon barrels?

Are you sure those are 55 gal? It looks like they might be the smaller, 30 gal units? They do make great trash cans. I cut the tops off, but around the inside of the top flange, so it leaves some beef up there. Then I cut a couple hand holes, about 6" down from the top. To make the hand holes...
