mine works pretty good in my 2005 .. but i also just had a very bad stuck situation with my truck and the attempts at getting out probably shortened its life span not gonna lie
Thankfully I've never grenaded any of mine but every one of them has, at one point or another, stayed locked after some wet weather or offroad foolishness and that's rough on hard pavement

Have you considered an ARB air locker. Not sure how price compares for you, however they are heavy duty, and can be turned "on" and "off" using a small air compressor that engages a dog internally.

My 2011 Suburban has the original G80 rear end in it. I swapped gears to 4.10 a few years ago and swapped the 5.3 for a 6.2. My wife daily drives it and we use it for cross country and local camping trips pulling our 6400lb travel trailer. It has ~250k miles on it now and still going strong. I thought about swapping it for a yukon limited slip when I did the gear change and rebuild, but the thing looked brand new when I took it apart. That was ~90k miles ago. My square has a 14BFF open diff and I did swap in a yukon Grizzly locker a few years ago... no complaints there either.

I suppose any remote amount of maintenance of the rear end fluid is going to lengthen the life span of the Mlocker.

HOw do you like a yukon grizzly locker? Whats the highlights of how it works?

Its stupid simple. It's just a lunchbox locker like a detroit is, I would probably hate it on a daily, but for my truck it works just fine. Supposedly it makes a big racket with a manual transmission too, but since I have a TH400, that hasn't been an issue either. I'm sure I'll eventually want to either get taller gears or want to redo the gears themselves, I only rebuilt the rear because I was redoing the chassis and found a deal locally for the grizzly and a rebuild kit brand new in box for only $250.

If I have to redo it again I'll just spring for new dana/spicer gears and probably a tru-trak.... but they want $1000 just for the limited slip for a 14BFF, so I'll probably just make due with the locker for the next decade or so.
