Good info. @JamesSam I’ll bow out now, since the TBI system is nothing I’m familiar with. The only other thing I can think of is checking fuel pressure. Sounds like @Ajax19 has a good handle on it.Take the air cleaner off and look at the spray pattern when running, also kinda sounds like something a bad MAP sensor or TPS/IACV could do don't forget the basics timing,cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and coil, check the vacuum advance diaphragm and springs in the dizzy don't leave out the ECU give the harness a wiggle test that's one thing about the early fuel injection the electrics kinda suck to work on your just going to have to test every system till you find something wrong
