Well well well… I don’t know how but after reassembling the switch this morning and threading it back on the door jamb, the dome light now works properly when either door is open, and the headlight switch too!

But wouldn’t you know it… now my fuel gauge is pegged way past full so I clearly screwed up something with that wire going to the tank. Does anyone know if the tank needs to be dropped to check that wire connection?

Pegged past full means an open circuit. Look for a disconnected, broken, etc wire. You may be able to see the connection on the tank while installed at the bed gap.
